But what if you’re not 100% sold on him? What if the difference on your board between the #5 QB and #6 QB isn’t a big difference?You take your guy when you can IMO. I've seen this kind of maneuvering bite the Rams in the past, gambling on trading down then losing their target LB Bobby Wagner (to a division rival no less).
QB isn't a position where you just take the next available guy if you can avoid it. If it was, Russell Wilson would probably still be Denver's starter.
The Broncos need more draft capital due to their salary cap. I’m not sure they won’t be tempted by trading back, especially if it get them a few extra picks this draft, and/or an additional first round pick next year.
