I like Choo/Perez better than Pence

If you like Choo/Perez, you'll love Pence/Perez... but yeah, I'm with you. Less cost in both money and prospects. Plus, in the SSS of the rest of the season, I don't see Pence being head and shoulders above what Choo would provide in Teh Phone Booth. He is an outstanding player, though, and provides Melky insurance (though, hopefully not off-season walking papers... Pagan, otoh...).

It is pretty unacceptable. All of these "journalists" are trying to scoop each other instead of doing their jobs properly. I realize that us "lunatic fringers" perpetuate it, but there really should be some professional courtesy/self-regulation/actual fact-checking. I like speculation over trade rumors as much as the next fan, but it needs to be branded as such. Luckily, this only #1,215 of things that are wrong with the world, so it isn't a huge deal. I just wish our current crop of journalists (in all facets, not just sports) better understood the power they wield.

Everything I have found states solely for ToJo. That would be a steal given the org depth at the position, how much the Phillies gave up to get him last year and the extra year of contract control. Ironically, the money he makes next year will be almost the exact amount freed up by another former Philadelphia outfielder's contract buy-out. Luckily, that is where the similarities between Hunter Pence and Aaron Rowand end.
