Anyone else feel like the umpire was giving strikes a little too far on the outside plate? There where three to four times I was like he called that a strike.

I think it's 18 for Angels and 16 for M's, but I may be wrong. Only going off that graphic they had.

Mariners improve to 19-14.

If the Angels lose, the Mariners will be tied for second place in the AL West.

Here's an interesting question to ponder

Who sits in the outfield when Saunders comes back?

Gillespie, Endy, and Jones all had 2 hits today.

Endy had a good game, but he is clearly the odd man out at this point. Cole Gillespie is somehow hitting .341 with a .396 OBP. You have to continue riding that hot streak that Gillespie is on.

Let one of em DH. Not like we're getting any production there anyway

That's a good idea. I like an outfield of Gillespie, Jones, and Saunders. That's a lot of speed and range defensively

Man I'm guessing we were all predicting a 5 run inning with two outs, bases empty and Miller up right? A shame Felix didnt get a win but at least the bullpen is in good shape for Erasmo day tommorrow.

almost hard to believe felix pitches incredibly, and the team does jack shit when he's on the mound striking out 15.

But if you saw the graphic, was watching Rays telecast in the first half of the game, it showed a comparison of Feix and Archer over the last calendar year and they were almost dead on equal. This was the guy I wanted to trade Franklin for when it was said Rays wanted him.

The kid (Archer) pitched a fantastic game, M's pulled of a good win today that was fun to watch...

Yeah, I think we get so used to ripping the M's offense when they don't score or don't score much, that we attribute every game like that to a bad offense. Sometimes we just run into good pitching. Archer's been on a pretty good roll lately, going at least 6 innings and giving a total of 3 runs in his last 4 starts (including one start each against Toronto and Miami who are top 6 in runs scored in the league).

Having said that, the M's did manage to bail him out a couple of times today by failing to get a clutch hit with runners in scoring position with less than two outs while he was in there. They're better in that area than they've been in recent years, but it's still frustrating when they have a chance to get to a pitcher and run his pitch count up earlier in a game and don't do it.

I don't really care either way.

W/L is unimportant for a pitcher.

Still, it was a career outing. And it's something like 28 starts where Felix has pitched 7 or more innings giving up zero runs, and gotten the ND or L. Kind of freakish.

And this offense is so bad, there is absolutely nothing wrong with commenting on it ever. 29th in OBP, 25th in BA and SLG. It's a steaming pile of shit, no matter how much people want to talk about how great the opposing pitcher was.

You left out the two stat's that matter the most:

5.5 out of the division
tied for 1st in the wildcard...

It might be a pile of dog shit, and Cano isn't hitting dingers, but these are the M's and there still in the mix in June, it's been a while since this team has had that going for them...
