holy shit I had no idea Chris Young was still in the majors. Good for him. I just read this on Fangraphs too, pretty interesting stuff.

I help coach a 10-11 year old team and his swing reminds me of some of theirs. The mechanics are awful and he pulls his head just like they do when he swings. I am surprised he ever makes contact with that swing.

I was just yelling the same thing at the TV his last AB. He looks like Ackley now pulling his head and stepping out of the bucket with his hips and feet heading towards first from the left side on balls outside. Ichiro is the only player I know who could make that work.

Man Franklin is a disaster right now. Where are those people that were clamoring to bring him up because of his AAA batting average and the fact that "there is no way he is worse then Miller."

I was one of those people and I have no problem with them doing it. But like Almonte, you have to learn when to pull the plug on a guy. We are way past that point.

The good news for Franklin fans, I was never really one of them though, is that he will be in the organization for a long time because we just threw away any trade value by letting him die up here. Why can't we be more like the Yankees in the aspect of building up the perceived value of our prospects and then trade them before the reality is revealed? ERRRR!

I believe in giving them all a chance until you find one that works like Jones. I also believe in sending them back when you see they are over matched. I am not talking based on average, but on watching. A guy can have a .150 average for a month, but be making good contact. Franklin is lost. Miller is lost. Almonte was lost. Ackley is who he is. Smoak is who he is. Saunders is the wildcard. Has the athletic ability but isn't consistent. Maybe this is the year he puts it together.

Time for Mt.-Tero. Maybe Avery or Noriega or Kelly.

of course, Ackley had a stint in AAA last year that was almost the same exact period of time as Franklin's this year, and they had very similar numbers in Tacoma when they were called back up.

it took Ackley about 2 months to get to the mid .250s, and he's hovered right around there ever since.

i'm not arguing to give franklin more time since i think it's a waste in every way imaginable for the welfare of the M's, but there it is.

Sad thing is that he's not worse then Miller. At least in terms of OPS. Franklin's career OPS is .654, Miller's OPS is .652. They're the same person lol
