Assuming the only options to replace on the 40 are Franklin, Almonte and Montero. YEEESH I can't believe I'm saying this but I guess my choice would be Montero since we have already seen the other two fail.

Remember when our 2014 offense was going to be lead by Vinnie Catricala, Carlos Peguero and Greg Halman (Rest In peace)? Ah yes, the good ole days. So glad we kept Jack around.

It looks like Montero is going to get the call to replace Saunders on the roster. The article phrases it as a question, but as Coug pointed out, there weren't many enticing options available and Montero is the only one we haven't seen in the majors this year. Hopefully he comes in ready to hit, and with Smoak on the DL, I can see him splitting time at first with Morrison too.

That does suck, every time this guy has a chance to prove he belongs an injury stops it...

Yeah, that's a real shame.

I just saw this news on here, and then googled it and saw that the MRI came back negative, so that's good.

Man, this team can't catch a break this year with injuries. Montero? :L That's what we need, a guy that can't hit and is now too fat to run.

Encouraging news for sure. The fact that its the same shoulder he injured last year is concerning though.

Could the Mariners broadcast team be any less interested in the team they actually cover? This entire series all I've heard is "JETER JETER JETER JETER TEAM CAPTAIN JETER JETER JETER" from the a Mariners broadcast crew, it's pathetic.

Dave Sims almost sounded excited when Jeter hit that two RBI single.

Looking like a lost series here. Hopefully they can nip it in the bud tommorrow with Felix facing a depleted Ranger squad. My fear is that Young and Elias are going to start inevitably coming down to earth and the offense isnt good enough to counteract it.

Second we get back from commercial, Dave Sims just cannot resist mentioning Jeter again. The first thing he says is "Jeter is 3-3 tonight", god I wish they would fire him.

What an embarrassing series. The Mariners had a clear advantage in the pitching matchups on game 1 and 3, yet the Fraudkees come in and sweep the Mariners in convincing fashion.

Can really tell the difference between a professional lineup and our's. The Yanks have made M's pitching earn everything this series working deep into counts and getting pitch counts up early. Meanwhile guys like Chase Whitley are averaging 10 pitches an inning and racking up K's.

If the Yankees hadn't robbed the Mariners of those home runs, we would've won on that double by Morrison.

From what I understand lots of ballparks/fans are celebrating Jeter in his last year, don't really get it but it is what it is. But this homestand was ridiculous on the Jeter love. leave it to the M's to go over the top and praise a guy from another team. I just saw that they are giving him 2nd base or something like that. WTF?

I wonder if the Seahawks will do the same thing when Larry Fitzgerald plays his last game at the Clink? Maybe the Hawks should celebrate Troy Polamalu the last time he plays in Seattle, I mean, he's going into the HOF, right?

yes I'm bitter that they got swept by the yankees
