No idea what the modern era is, but Nebraska lost seven in a row in 1957.

Wow, that coach was worse than Bill Callahan, but he had the same first name, Bill Jennings. Nebraska should never hire a coach with the first name of Bill.

Bill Jennings was replaced by Bob Devaney in 1962. Devaney took over for a team that had not had a winning season since 1954, and went 9-2 in his first year.

I think ours is 5 in 2007. We lost 7 in a row in 1957, but I'm not sure that qualifies as "modern".

I realized recently that Bible was an AD at Nebraska at one point...they recently put together a wall with all the previous athletic directors' portraits. I did not know that :noidea:

Your school hired him away from UT's lil' brother and we did the same to your Huskers. He was also a basketball and baseball coach.

The "modern" era is anything after the end of WWII or so I've been told.

6, twice (only went back to 1950). Most recent was in '88 - lost to Georgia, Duke, LSU, Auburn, WSU and Alabama. Finished the year 5-6 (started 0-6).

This might be an interesting topic for another thread but from thee results of my google search, there has not been a consensus on "modern". I've seen WWII and I've also seen 1960, which was when the two platoon system really took off.

For me the modern era began in 1973 when the NCAA limited football scholarships to 85.

A Duck fan kicking me in the nutz on a Saturday...imagine that...

Yeah, a brutal stretch of humility. Not sure IF the Ducks had a winning record against us during that entire 28 year run...

:L

Wait, isn't it Sunday? I know we went at the brew hard last night...

U shouldn't have told me that last night about the #28. I had forgot it was that long a streak.
