I don't get this viewpoint.

Their roster is awful. They added a couple marginal players like Carroll. They have a couple young players like LeVert and Hollis Jefferson who are improving, but still far away from being a solid contributor on a good team. They also lost Lopez, who was far and away their best player.

As for Russell? He isn't elevating that team. He seems like the kind of player who has his own agenda. That is the main reason the Lakers were willing to send him on.

The Nets probably still have the worst roster in the NBA. If they finish outside the bottom 3, it will most likely be because others are trying to lose and they aren't.
Atlanta is worse.

The Suns are too young and play in the West.

The Kings are....

Well, the Kings.

Orlando is also a fucking dumpster fire of mismatch parts.

It's very possible that the Nets won't finish bottom 3.

Yeah, like @bksballer89 said in another thread, Brooklyn won't have the worst record in the East, if Atlanta stays as currently constructed.

Two or three Western Teams will also finish worse by virtue of playing more games against tougher competion.

They should also probably be better than the bulls

Exactly, plus Chicago is a 25 win team possibly. I had all these concerns before the trade, now I fantasize about it lol

Well, depending on what happens today, of course.

I already know what's going to happen.

The Celtics will convince the Cavs that IT's hip is fine and the trade will go through.

Prior to the all star break, IT's hip will literally fall off. This will prompt Lebron to demand a mid-season trade to the Lakers for Luol Deng and cash.

After being eliminated by the Lakers in the 1st round and seeing the Lakers fall to GSW in a tough 7 game series, PG will join the Lakers in the off season. Then, the following season, the Lakers will crush the Celtics in the finals.

Celtics fans will cry and blame the refs.

Hahaha hahaha

Could set him back into hiding for 30-60 days.
Maybe he's gotta study for the MCAT?

Plus who knows who ends up in tank mode?
No reason for Nets to tank if it's not a pick they can keep.

I get that other teams have gotten worse, but have the Nets really gotten better? Really?

Lin is okay in a system where he can take charge. Russell is not a good fit for Lin.

I just looked.
Vegas has them winning 22.5 games which is easily the worst in the league.
Suns are 2nd worst at 26.

That being said, my opinion is that it gives more leverage to the Celts.
Obviously Cavs want the pick, so they might have to suck it up with I.T. and his hip for 1 year.

Yeah. I can't understand people saying the Nets are going to be closer to 10 than 1. They are awful. Really, really bad.

I'm worried about Lavar Ball. He hasn't said any insanely stupid shit lately.

Best guess is that Celtics doctors say IT doesn't need surgery and Cavs doctors say he does. Who knows who is right because either side could be posturing for leverage.

Celtics will be in a huge chemistry mess if this gets voided, though, while Cavs will be no different.

Another factor is that other teams will realize Kyrie is available, since the Cavs seem to have justification to void if they want. Possible other teams are making offers to Cavs right now.

I guarantee none compare to what they agreed to with Boston.

Depends on the reality of IT's health.

Here is the thing though.

Say he needs surgery. Unless he misses the entire season, they should still do this. If he gets back by mid-March, the Cavs will have enough time to integrate him in and figure everything out.

If he is going to be out for the year, then yeah. They could probably get a package that might not be better, but one that wouldn't waste LeBron's last year.
