Overall my plan has less assumptions than yours lol

I'm trusting the process of getting the assets and saving cap time.

Not getting a short term solution that matches GS's peak and guarantees no shot at winning a title.

Well, we don't know that Dallas would agree to any deal.

The pick doesn't guarantee Porter, and the Lakers pick doesn't guarantee Bamba.

When I said compete with the Warriors, I meant the next 2 years, we don't know what they'll be after that.

The easy answer is, short of getting LeBron straight up for the BKN pick, it wasn't going to happen.

What I see now, is in 3 years, Kyrie in his prime, Hayward still in his, Brown and Tatum developed, and adding another key piece via trade or FA. Get some rim protection. And then when the dust settles on this Warriors run(hopefully), and the Cavs collapse(hopefully) we have a nice legitimate title contender for a few years. I think this Is Danny's vision too. And while there are a lot of ifs, it seems like a solid plan.
the key will be to find and sign another free agent after Horford expires but before Tatum and Brown get their extensions.

I asked how you contend with the Warriors, you gave me about an 8 year timeline.

That is the answer.

You don't contend with them now.

You contend with them in 3 years when they're older and getting laughably expensive that they can't keep their top reserves together either.

not saying he was wrong, but i AM saying it's like wishing injury on players...

anyone with any decency would want both teams to face off at full strength(or as close to it as both could be)...

Yeah but we had that with Cavs Ws III, both teams were pretty much full strength. Time for something new.

I'm hoping for Rockets/Bucks.

Bad process, like what Boston just did, should not be rewarded.

To contend with the Warriors in 2017?

They should've unloaded their assets for Butler and Cousins.

that was the only possible shot. And you're still probably a huge underdog.

better than looking at the sixth straight year without a playoff win. :pound::nono:

only thing sadder than being a lotto team year (1) after year (2) after year (3) after year (4) after year (5) after year is not having your pick.

Not really.
When the Heat or Lakers lose, we don't go into butt hurt hiding for 60 days.
It's just part of the cycle for being really good for a really long time and then dealing with the aftermath that eventually happens to all power teams.

this is the first time since duke he has had a top tier coach.

this is a stable organization with a plan, and no alpha dog calling all the moves behind the scenes. this is his team, and its up to him to run with it on both ends of the court.

interesting...the celtics basically turned over 90% of their starting roster. lots of guys have to learn stevens' system on the fly. remember what happened to start in miami with lebron etc?

that took time.

Actually only 60% of the STARTING roster

Again, there is a difference between bad defense at 6'3" and bad defense at 5'8". I honestly don't even know how you have Isaiah on the floor against GS.

Or Love, or Korver, or Wade, or most any of the others.

Didn't someone point out that Curry out rebounded Tristan?? :pound::pound::pound:

Would you care at that point? Nope, you wouldn't shut up about it either LOL

I think a lot of people are hoping for something new

I think those people will not get what they are hoping for

Round 4....should be fun!

Itll be interesting to see if the Cavs use that pick to add another major piece, or if they sit on it.

I would love for them to add Marc Gasol. He would create some mismatches- and hes a phenomenal passer. Would be a great fit with Bron.

Not me, I don't want another Cavs Ws Finals (even though that's what's coming)

But Wiggy has a decent point. You still gotta play the games. Shit happens.

Obviously they have to play the games and deal with health, but that's a given.
If you are of the mindset that you need to wait and see how that plays out, they why post 50,000 pages of spam between now and then?

That was really my only point, next 2 years it wasn't going to happen.

1. Isiah
2. Hayward
3. Butler
4. Horford
5. Cousins

would have been scary. It was definitely possible too.

Not true at all. Our discussion stays consistent.
You run and hide at the first sign of trouble EVERY SINGLE TIME.

As far as James.
Don't give a flying fuck if he plays here or not.
He's petrified of losing here again.
If the Cavs lose here in their 1 appearance this year, and he bolts, he will have won a total of 0 games in Miami since he left.

The Heat arent even a blip on LeBron's radar at this point. They are an irrelevant Eastern Conference also-ran. Maybe if we are lucky and the Heat make the playoffs we will finally get a Cavs/Heat playoff series--- but i doubt it....Heat always seem to blow up my dream Eastern Conference first round matchup.
