Or so says the writer in this article

Jordan Howard is a better fit in Matt Nagy offense

Interesting breakdown and explanation as to why Howard should do well in the new offense. Funny thing is there have been numerous reports that Nagy doesn't think Howard is a fit for it. The ultimate dichotomy in terms.

Umm I think Nagy would know best if Howard is a fit for *his* offense.

Don't be surprised to see Pace make a big move and trade Howard. *crossing fingers*

Howard has been a top back with everyone knowing the play and everyone geared to stop him. This should be a year with teams focusing elsewhere and defending the whole field. I can't wait. If Nagy can't fit Howard then we hired a shit coach and him and Pace will be gone together in 2 years. But that's NOT what is going to happen. Trubs will shine, teams won't be able to stack or key on Howard and he will go nuts. BS will finally realize Howard is a pure stud.

Sadly, I see this is a possibility. I am guessing Nagy would want a more versatile back. Howard should fetch a nice haul. Howard and our first to Cleveland for 4 and a third rounder to grab Barkley?

I agree with noon...if you can't find a way to fit in a top 10 RB, then you are a shitty coach.

I would just like to see what Howard can do when they don't have 8 men constantly in the box. I read somewhere that the Bears had more of those from opposing defenses than every other team in the league. That's gross.

Howard was quite serviceable in the receiving game in 2016. The drops have been annoying, but he's really not as far off in that department as many would believe. With Cohen shouldering the 3rd down role anyway. He's not going to have to be phenomenal in that area. He just has to be good enough to hold onto checkdowns, pickup yardage and catch a swing or screen pass every once in a while to keep teams honest.

Agreed. Obviously there has to be some balls thrown Jordan's way just to keep the defense honest. But I like the idea of a bigger role for Cohen, which would include more plays that have both of these players on the field together.

A bigger role for Cohen also means a fresher Howard late in games and into the season. He played last season with a separated AC joint from the beginning of the Pittsburgh game and on. He's still very young (23). However, at a point... you have to start thinking about the load this guy has been forced to shoulder. It would appear that he is incredibly durable, but let's try not to push that to its limit.

Oh give me a break. Enough with the hyperbole. If what you said is true, Howard would have 0 yards the whole year. You and everyone here is making it out like Howard is super human. Lay off the koolaid kid.

You must not watch games because richi summarized Howard’s nfl career rather effectively.

What hyperbole? The facts are clear, Howard is a top back in this league. He has been keyed on relentlessly the past 2 years and has been going against stacked boxes because he was our only threat. This year teams will have other threats to worry about and Howard will benefit. These are all truths. PS. I know Howard is making you look foolish as you have been down on him from day one. I just want you to know it's gonna get worse (for you) and stay that way for years.

I was questioning the part where you said "everyone knowing the play and everyone geared to stop him". Which is utter BS. He is not "constantly" running against 8 in the box. He is not constantly running against a D that knows what the play is. Give me a break.

I feel Howard is severely overrated by Bear fans. And I believe Pace isn't a big fan either. I believe Pace tested the trading waters and dangled Howard out there to see what we could get. And it wasn't much.

Sort of like you claiming everyone knows the play and they're out to stop Howard--and even still Howard, superhumanly I might add, can still run right through it, LOL.

What did I make up? My feelings? I warned you before, don't take the stupid pill.

I think the Bears need another decent receiver and if Trabisky shows improvement, the Bears could field a decent passing game, that would help the running game obviously.

He is not "constantly" running against 8 in the box. He is not constantly running against a D that knows what the play is.

Howard ran against 8+ in the box more than every RB in the NFL with at least 200 attempts - sans only Leonard Fournette. Howard averaged more YPC than Fournette despite their similar figures pertaining to how defenses lined up against them.
