I looked to make sure it wasn’t a 1 year fluke.

it isn’t. He has consistently had pretty extreme splits. To be fair, though, Rocky players are naturally negatively affected by the Denver altitude and their splits normalize when they go to other teams. I don’t expect him to be a .718 hitter moving forward. But I think he is much closer to the .718 than he is to the .880.
Yeah the splits are extreme but that .235 Babip on the road last year was a big outlier. And if you look at Xander Bogaerts for example, his OPS is around .750 outside of Fenway just like Story outside of Coors. So I'm thinking he can get to around .800 which is basically splitting the difference between the .718 and .880.

his career road BABIP is .317

I'll gladly take an OPS around .800 with his defense. And I'm not too worried about the arm if he's playing 2nd base. He was also dealing with an elbow injury

So I guess we're down to Conforto as the last relatively big name player

I have a feeling he's going to put up a 140 wRC+. Never underestimate the power of Cardinals Devil Magic™.

Padres acquired LHP Sean Manaea from Athletics for INF Euribiel Angeles and RHP Adrian Martinez.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports LHP Sean Manaea has been traded to the San Diego Padres. The A's finally found a trade partner for the 30-year-old left hander. Manaea is a big addition to the Padres after posting a 3.91 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 194 strikeouts over 179 1/3 innings last season. He'll solidify a rotation that includes Yu Darvish, Blake Snell, Joe Musgrove, and Mike Clevinger.

adds some stability to that rotation, but with them going over the salary cap and luxury tax there could be another move on the way.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Marlins have agreed to acquire left-hander Tanner Scott and right-hander Cole Sulser from the Orioles.

In return, the Orioles are expected to receive a pair of prospects -- Antonio Velez and Kevin Guerrero -- as well as a player to be named later and a compensation draft pick. Sulser and Scott have both worked in the ninth inning for the Orioles in recent years and may factor into the late-inning mix in Miami now that Dylan Floro (arm) will begin the season on the injured list.

White Sox signed RHP Johnny Cueto to a minor league contract.

There was a report late last month that Cueto was nearing an agreement with the Twins, but he'll instead head to a different AL Central team that just lost Lance Lynn for at least a couple of months due to a knee injury. The veteran right-hander stands to make a $4.2 million salary in Chicago, prorated to the number of days he is on the major league roster. He posted a 4.08 ERA and 98/30 K/BB ratio across 114 2/3 innings last season with the Giants.

They will ALWAYS be the Indians to me.

Until they get a new owner that is willing to spend they will do nothing in this league. It's really pathetic.
