Just saw Mariota and Winston interviewed together. I thought that Winston's "character issues" were overblown before, and after the interview I am even more convinced that he will not only be okay but will be a great leader for some team, providing his on-field skills translate to the NFL. The dude is just a likeable guy and seems to be honest and straight up. He should be able to earn the respect of his teammates in short order. Mariota, on the other hand, seems a bit uncomfortable on the spot. Not to say that he won't be a great leader, but it will definitely take him longer to get to a point where the troops are going to be ready to follow him into battle. He just doesn't inspire confidence like Winston does.

But take a second and look at what he said yesterday. He dismissed any idea that there is anything wrong with his shoulder.

“I had an MRI just like every one else. I’ve been playing football since I was four years old and my shoulder has been fine.” “I’ve got the same shoulder I’ve had for the past two years at Florida State,”

But then he says:

"I’ve been playing baseball,” “I was a pitcher – that might be why the shoulder thing"

What is he saying? The shoulder is fine but he knows why it might be hurt or week?
