What are your thoughts on Mike Sando's list? Do you think your teams QB is placed just right, to low or to high?

For those who haven't seen it yet or need a reminder here is an excerpt and the list below:
"Sando's list was compiled based on feedback from 50 NFL coaches and executives, including six general managers, eight head coaches, 10 evaluators, 12 coordinators, six quarterback coaches and seven execs. The last ballot was a joint effort of four members of a team's personnel department.

More than one quarterback was featured for teams with undetermined starting jobs, and the survey excluded rookies because voters have not seen them play in the NFL."

A Tier 1 quarterback can carry his team each week. The team wins because of him. He expertly handles pure passing situations. He has no real holes in his game.

1. Aaron Rdogers

2. Patrick Mahomes

3. Tom Brady

4. Josh Allen

5. Justin Herbert

6. Joe Burrow

Tier 2:

A Tier 2 quarterback can carry his team sometimes but not as consistently. He can handle pure passing situations in doses and/or possesses other dimensions that are special enough to elevate him above Tier 3. He has a hole or two in his game.

7. Matthew Stafford

8. Russell Wilson

9. Deshaun Watson

10. Lamar Jackson

11. Dak Prescott

12. Derek Carr

13. Kyler Murray

14. Matt Ryan

Tier 3:

A Tier 3 quarterback is a legitimate starter but needs a heavier running game and/or defensive component to win. A lower-volume dropback passing offense suits him best.

15. Kirk Cousins

16. Jimmy Garoppolo

17. Ryan Tannehill

18. Mac Jones

19. Baker Mayfield

T-20. Jalen Hurts

T-20. Carson Wentz

22. Jared Goff

23. Trevor Lawrence

24. Jameis Winston

Tier 4:

A Tier 4 quarterback could be an unproven player (not enough information for voters to classify) or a veteran who ideally would not start all 17 games.

25. Justin Fields

26. Tua Tagovailoa

27. Davis Mills

28. Zach Wilson

29. Trey Lance

30. Daniel Jones

31. Marcus Mariota

32. Sam Darnold

33. Mitch Trubisky

34. Drew Lock

Tier 5:

A Tier 5 quarterback is best suited as a backup.

35. Geno Smith

I think the only tier 1s I'd have are Mahomes, Rodgers, and Allen. Saying Burrow/Herbert are tier 1 is incredibly generous, imo.

Tier 1

Mahomes
Rodgers
Allen

Tier 2

Brady (Could argue he's still tier 1)
Burrow
Herbert
Watson
Jackson

Tier 3:

Wilson (could jump back into tier 2 for me)
Carr (lol @ the notion Carr is ever tier 2)
Stafford (Did we forget he has a track record?)
Murray (we gotta stop calling every QB with a pulse tier 2)
Prescott (same thing as Murray)
Cousins
Ryan (not tier 2 in the year of our lord 2022)
Tannehill
M. Jones
Hurts
Winston

Tier 4

Fields (I think he jumps into tier 3 this year)
Wentz (stop making Wentz a thing)
Goff (We've seen the movie before in LA, it's not that good)
Tua
Lawrence
Lance
Z. Wilson
Mayfield
Mills
Mariota

The rest not named

Tier 5

Lock
D. Jones
G. Smith
Darnold
Trubisky

So he is saying someone will give Lamar Jackson all of the money. I guess we'll find out.

I don't see Carr and Ryan being a tier better than Cousins. I guess we'll find that out, too

My biggest gripe is having Trevor Lawrence that high. I would move Carr, Ryan, Cousins, Garoppolo, Tannehill, and Wentz into a new Tier 2.5. Other than that i'd move Darnold, Trubisky, and Lock into Tier 5, but that wouldn't affect their overall rankings. Overall pretty good list.

Nobody else performed better

Tier 3, fuck off. Did your dumbass watch the second half of the Super Bowl when OBJ was hurt, playing with a 4th string TE and no running game. He carried the offense.

Only the second qb in NFL to led his team to three postseason comebacks. Thsy is it, just two guys. The guy is clutch. Don't be mad because Mahomes has as many rings as Stafford,

So, we're going to forget his Lions career existed? Is Eli Manning elite? Stafford wasn't even top 10 on most people's lists until last year. I don't even have 10 QB's in my tiers 1 and 2.

Of course you put Herbert above him, the guy who can't get his team to the playoffs. Going into last season had the a better wr than Stafford, a better running back

FTR, those are just tiers. I don't list them in a special order. You're weirdly mad about this. Stafford has 10+ years in the league. 1 year shouldn't sway an opinion that much.

But yes:

Herbert > Stafford

The worst organization in sports, who has one career playoff win. This is football not basketball, you need some help. He had a top ten defense only once as a Lion, shit head coaches, a Hall of Fame wr that just flat out quit playing for the Lions. No real running game and all Stafford has done is led the NFL in comebacks since coming into this league while playing with garbage.

What do you know, you give mr.clutch some help and he wins a ring.

Clutch isn't a repeatable skill.

Skill is.

Stafford ranks 25th in Adjusted EPA/Play since 2009 including postseason. That's not tier 1. It's not really even tier 2. Guys like Mac Jones are outpacing him.

Stafford has had OL help and WR help in Detroit. Sure his defenses were generally a joke, but those are defenses. That doesn't let HIM off the hook no matter how much Stafford stans want to say it is.

There was four factors to a team,

Offense
Defense
Special Teams
Coaching

Congrats to you Stafford on having help on one factor, that is good enough. Right, Dan Marino! Of course Dan Marino had more than 1 factor

The very fact you are complaining about this and making excuses indicates Stafford in tier 3 is spot on, tbh.

As much as I like this tier system, I think tier 3 should be split up a bit. You start getting weird QB's getting lumped together at the top and bottom of it that probably deserve their own tiers, respectively, imo.

As far as the actual OP list:

I again will reiterate they are being way too generous with who is in tiers 1 and 2. Tier 3 ≠ trash

Tier 3 Qbs don't do what Stafford did last year . Sorry but he elevated his game when the Rams needed it.

Nick Foles and Carson Wentz exist. Clutch ≠ Tier 2 or 1. Tiers 2 and 1 are quite restrictive. Or were. I used to remember these lists having Drew Brees as tier 2 in his prime.

According to PFF Herbert ranked #1 amongst QBs in fewest turnover worthy plays during 2021. Stafford ranked #29. I have Herbert in tier 1 and Stafford in tier 2.
