I'll toss another QB into the conversation

Justin Fields

I couldn;t find Wonderlic info on Fields, however, I found this:

Justin Fields scored the highest rating ever on a mental aptitude test

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler:

"The consensus in an informal poll of league evaluators is that Fields would be worth a second- or third-round pick in a pre-draft trade," they reported. "When compared to former top-10 picks recently traded, that's better than Trey Lance, whom Dallas acquired from San Francisco for a fourth-round pick, but slightly worse than Sam Darnold, who, along with a sixth-round pick, went from the Jets to Carolina in exchange for second- and fourth-rounders."

How about Jerry Jeudy and our 4th round pick for Fields

Juedy and a 4th for fields might be something that could work. Depends on what Payton thinks of him. Great runner, but not a great pocket processor in my opinion. On the wonderlick scores I have no idea why they still use those as they don't have a correlation to success in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind Lock back in for a QB competition with Payton, but I just don't think he will be anything more than what he has been given all his time an opportunities in the league.

Isn’t Fields about on the same level as current Russ? Clearly his cap hit would be better but he’s not really much of an upgrade. I guess you’d be really banking on that Payton can turn him around.

Fields is far more mobile than Russ is at this point of his career. He is probably in the top 3 with Lamar and Josh Allen as far as running ability at the QB position right now. It is the rest of his game, you know the reading defense and throwing part, that haven't developed. To be fair I am not sure Chicago did him a lot of good in those aspects though. His cap hit for 2024 is cheap at around $6Million, but if you pick up his 5th year option it is $22-$25 Million otherwise he is a FA after this next year, so the value is really tough to judge.

I would like to see Baker as a Bronco, but I just figured his price tag would be a little to much .. maybe not ??
Depends on if we can trade Wilson . Everyone thinks we will cut him . I am not sure we trade him even as others state . yes we will pay for some of Wilson bloated contact . but not all of it .
