Rivera is gonna run the D, so this doesn't concern me too much. Del Rio seems like a "rah, rah" guy that could help with the culture. I think his main job will be to work with the linebackers. That's the area where he has the most experience.

Del Rio is a solid coach. He took the Raiders to a 12-4 season and playoffs, but their QB Carr got hurt.

Good move if Redskins can get him.

Amazingly, despite the redskins systematic dysfunction, they were Rivera’s first choice as a team he’d like to next coach.

I guess the redskins arent as woefully talentless as reported.

I think there is some talent on the team. I think Jay was too soft, I think Callahan was too old school.

I think players need to be held accountable. I think players have to learn the difference between hurt and injured. If a player can't learn that then find one or some that can.

I expect the team to be near .500 next year. Of course this is if Dan lets the football people do their thing.

I am fine with Jack Del Rio, fits the good coordinator lousy HC role. He is not coming here to be a puppet. Del Rio and Rivera are both ex-linebackers. Just that would be a huge improvement over the goofball that was just here. If Del Rio comes also we are going to play some defense or someone is going to want to know why!

Its a great hire. First its a defensive hire and allows him to keep KOC to develop Haskins. Rivera is a good defensive minded disciplined coach. We are very lucky to get this guy. IMO best defensive head coach on the market. For those of you who think our team is doom and gloom why would a guy like Rivera come here?

Its a good start. Why haven't we fried Manusky yet?
