I think OP has a valid point though. Again, I think he's an excellent player but he's being put on a pedestal way to fast and honestly, it's not so much the bandwagon Heat fans, it's the media. Dude was said to be the "chosen one" during his junior year in high school and with the media backing you, how can you fail? Again, he's a GREAT player but there is some overratedness there as well.
How can you fail straight out of High School? By not living up to the hype. When you fail by not living up to the hype, the media stops talking about you. When the media stops talking about you, then you weren't the "chosen one"

We haven't reached that point yet.

Im curious if the Miami Heat would have even won it all this year if Danny Granger, Derrick Rose, Luol Deng, and Russell Westbrook were playing in the playoffs. I doubt it.

I wonder why the Pacers are trying to trade Granger? Is it because he and Paul George play the same position. BTW the same Pacers team last year WITH Danny Granger lost to the Heat in 6 and the Heat didn't even have Bosh in that series.

Is it Miami fault that Rose is a little bitch and decided never to return from an injury that now takes 8-9 months to return from?

Everyone who knows basketball knows that OKC does not matchup with Miami. Trust me if OKC made the finals again with Westbrook, OKC wouldn't have gave Miami nearly as much trouble as the Spurs.

I love when idiots try to use lame excuses for Miami winning the title. If you want to use the injury excuses, I will use it also. If D-Wade was not hurt for the entire playoffs, they would've swept the Bulls, beat the Pacers in 5, and beat the Spurs in 6

Sounds to me like people hate Lebron because of the media frenzy? LOL. The media always over exaggerates. Its sort of dumb to even debate this. Lebron is the best player on the planet right now. No one is even close. The fact he is even compared to MJ as the GOAT should make you realize how good he is and he is not even done yet. I think the comparisons are a tad bit premature and frankly I dont think another player is going to have the combination of skill, luck, and timing that MJ had ever again. There is a story behind MJ that other players just dont have. Its that story thats going to keep most people ranking MJ as the GOAT.

I thought Lebron beat all those dudes last year or the year before? Sounds more like hope than doubt.

Good point.....IMO, not much remaining in Wade's tank and Bosh is not a premier player. Miami got a lot of help from Anderson and Miller. Because of Anderson, Miami was a better team this year and Miller hits the 3 better than anyone else on the team. Take away either player and Miami has a problem. Battiea had a great final game; other than that, he had a miserable year. Had it not been for Lebron, that team was mediocre, at best. He got the best out of the rest of the team and that is something not seen in the stats. I really don't see Miami repeating next year as they got no help in the draft and they really need to think about replacing Bosh and Wade. As noted someplace else, Wade, Bosh, and James were all part of the same draft. That was some draft.

:agree: They might be able to repeat next year but I rather doubt it. Went to 2 Game 7's this year.

Yeah this debate should really wait until he retires. For all we know LBJ could honestly finish with 8 MVP'S and 5 championships.

Doesn't matter. Lebron will never dominate the whole league like MJ did. Never.

Nothing say domination like 8 MVP's and 5 titles

How many times was MJ rejected at the rim? Lebron? Oops.

Man, MJ was in total control of nearly every BB game he ever played in. He ran the team and dictated the results. Whatever MJ wanted to happen happened.

Lebron isn't in control of anything. He can score but there are lots of players that can score. Lebron will never be the player MJ was. Never. Won't happen. To think he will is a wet dream.

Thats called misty colored memories. Jordans the GOAT but lets not lose our minds and say he never got his shot blocked at the rim or has never failed.

The point is that if it ever happened nobody remembers it while everyone will remember Lebron's rim rejection for a very long time to come.

And if it had happened in a playoff game everybody would remember it.

MJ wasn't stupid enough to try to jam the ball in the face of a defender like Hibbert. Lebron learned a hard lesson that night. MJ would have found another way to get the ball in the hole. Many of the moves MJ made at the rim simply astounded people. And very few of them didn't find their way into the basket.

^^^ Ok dude. MJ is clearly the GOAT, but there is some serious revisionist history and LeBron hatred going on in your head.

It doesn't make sense to say that, this is a team game and one player does not fail alone, and then say, Lebron lost in the finals because the Cavs were horrible. This would make lebron horrible as well because he was on said team. The Cavs were not horrible, it just was not their time to win it all. You dont go to the finals if you are a horrible team.

MVP's are a horrible way to judge someones career. If Lebron keeps taking his teams to the finals and making players around him better, then he should be in the conversation period. If you want to question if Lebron is overrated, you must first ask, you constructed the rating? I think Lebron is rated right where he should be and should not be COMPARED to Jordan because they dont even play the same style or share the same skill set

The only thing I hate is when Lebron fans are talking out of their asses. MJ is in a class all by himself. Lebron isn't even close. Lebron does not dominate an entire league like MJ did and he never will. If Lebron fans would just acknowledge that fact I would have no problem with them.

Lebron flops like a freak and is a crybaby. MJ never did either.

What do you call what he is doing now? There has been no one better for the past 5 years. Sounds like dominating to me. Still not in Jordans category but no else is either.

Lebron dominates any SF that tries to guard him one on one... lets be honest for a moment.

2s or 3s cant guard him down low, bigs cant guard him on the perimeter, so what more would he have to do to be considered dominate?
