How long does Philly stick with Wentz before going back to Foles?

you are continuing to live on make believe land.

He was not good his first year.
His second year he played well BUT the team won even without him
Third year he was benched/hurt and the team played BETTER once he sat.
His fourth year was nothing special until the last few games where he played terrible competition.
Last year he sucked.

That got him a 100M dollar extension.

DUMB!

He signed the extension in the summer of 2019. What happened in 2019 and last year had no bearing on the extension.

What got him the extension was:

64% completion percentage.
72 TD's
28 INT's
QB Rating: 92.5

In his first 3 seasons. In 40 games played.

I still don't understand why you have a problem with the Eagles traded him seeing as how you think he sucks so much. He wasn't going to start anyway.

what else would a fan of the eagles say?

hopefully you guys draft better than you've shown or that rebuild will be a long ass time.
Can't say I'm fond of our GM and would like to see him demoted to capologist and someone else put in that can evaluate talent.
If that doesn't happen, then the same mistakes will keep happening.

That's on the owner.

Smartest thing you've ever posted. Philly fans realizing the elite Howie is the cause of their problems. He's never been a good evaluator of talent and now that kick the can strategy is biting Philly in the ass.

It is nice to know that the worst QB in the league (certainly bottom 1/3) got us a 3rd rounder in 2021 and a 2nd in 2022 (potential 1st).
Unfortunately, it really doesn't matter what picks we get if we don't know how to use them.

I'm all for trading down and picking up as many assets as possible, punt on 2021, and eye 2022 as the rebirth.
And $34M in dead money...That's the best part of the trade...Throw in playing a RB at QB or possibly using a top 10 pick on one and

Kicking the can had nothing to do with Wentz.

Now, evaluating talent....... that's another story.

That dead cap money says otherwise. Howie continued to provide guarentees and push salaries down the road just to entice players. Like everyone, not a Philly fan has said it would bite them. That check has now come due.

you can dress the numbers up but it doesn’t tell the whole story. He was not good the first year, great the second year BUT the team won without him so that should have been a red flag and benched/hurt the third year. THOSE are the REAL facts yet even now you are still in denial of them.

They had Wentz under their control for TWO more years yet they gave him an extension? DUMB!

Lol. I'm not in denial about anything. It was dumb to extend him. I've admitted that. I'm merely giving the perspective of why they did it at the time. If he plays like he did in 2017, his contract actually becomes a great bargain.

I'm again wondering why you have a big issue with them trading him? You've done a good job outlining how much you think he sucks.

Dude... don’t get caught up in their desperate trolling attempt to start shit. Wentz played really well today. 350 yards, two TDs... it was the secondary that let us down. We are playing poorly but Wentz is a superstar and the best young QB in the game.

Look at it this way. There have been threads saying Brady sucks and is overrated yet he might be the greatest QB ever. When you win the SB the other 31 teams jump for joy when you lose.
I miss PE1.

Obviously in retrospect it was a dumb decision. But we've never had a QB fall off like this before, it was not something they could ever predict. He was good enough to earn that extension at the time, the Eagles probably assumed the price would only go up just as it did with Dak. What took place later is again revisionist history.

Everybody but eagles fans saw what wentz had become after that injury. He wasnt even a shell of his former self. Hence, multiple threads just like this about him. You guys were clutching your homer glasses way too tightly.
