Not sure I understand that reasoning? Why wouldn't the Eagles want a 1st rounder in return? The bridge was burned in Philly. If he plays the Eagles get better compensation, if he sucks and doesn't play, the Eagles made a good move.

because it meant that they HAD a quality QB but they couldn’t make it work. They couldn’t “fix him” or they were the reason he’s fucked up.

they kicked the can down the road with extensions, none worse than wentz just trying to get ahead of Dallas signing their QB,. Signing the Detroit corner for top money worked out well and they did that cause he had great stats against Cooper? LOL. Couple that with the 1st round draft of a TE with a top 5 NFL TE on their roster....again trying to one up Dallas. Yeah, signing Wentz long term was a dumb move. Wentz played like shit last year. At the time of the extension, it looked like an okay move. Turned out it wasn't. Shipping him for a 3rd and 2nd(could be a 1st) is a good move for someone who's declined each of the last 3 seasons. I don't blame the Eagles for Wentz playing like shit. The Eagles do get blame for not drafting well the past couple seasons so that we agree on.

The TE that we drafted(in the 2nd round btw) has turned out to be a really good TE.

I don't really give a shit what Dallas does or doesn't do. If that's the organization were striving to be, were in trouble ourselves.

And yes, I'm not thrilled with Hurts. I thought it was a dumb pick at the time, and his performance this past season did nothing to change my mind. If we took Lance, or if Fields/Wilson fell to us, I hope we take one of them.

The Wentz extension was done because you wanted to drive up the Prescott signing. The Slay signing was with Cooper in mind and drafting the TE when you did was based on Witten's retirement.

Dallas hasn't done jack for two plus decades and yet, your management can't get them outta their minds with regards to team decisions

Or the extension was done with the hopes he would be the player he was in 2017, and at the same time, be a discounted rate if he did return to that form. Obviously he didn't return to that ability. He's been pretty awful since then. I've heard it for two plus years now on here, and it's been warranted. The Slay sign/trade was because our secondary sucked ass the year before. Hell it sucked last year with him. Getting Goedert was a good draft pick. He's going to be our starter for the next 4/5 years. He's the only reliable pass catching weapon on the roster. Which again goes to how shitty the Eagles have drafted on the whole.

Sure it looks bad now because he's regressed a ton since it was signed. Had he played the way he did in his first 3 years combined, these last two, that makes him an average starting QB, and the money doesn't look bad. What makes it bad is that he was the shittiest QB last year.
