If there were any doubts about Rasmus Dahlin coming into the World Junior Championship, they were all but erased by his spectacular performance at the tournament. The draft eligible defenceman had 6 points in 7 games, and was named the tournament’s best defenceman. He showcased his dazzling skating and offensive abilities every game, regularly rushing the puck up ice and dancing through opponents to create scoring chances.

“Dahlin’s performance not only solidified his #1 ranking, he separated himself from everyone else”, said ISS Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “Dahlin showed the ability to be a difference maker in each and every game he played. When he has the puck on his stick, he is one of the most electric players in this age group”.

I'm not sold on Tkachuk at this point. In fact I think he has the potential to be Jared Staal-ish, living on family name to some degree. I'd take Svechnikov over him everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. I'd take Zadina, Bouchard and a few others before Tkachuk too.

I would too but I think the ship has sailed on her grand slam chances not that she's dating a hockey player.

The Calgary Flames are second among Canadian franchises with three players on the list – Tri-City Americans defenceman Juuso Valimaki (No. 18), Harvard University defenceman Adam Fox (No. 36) and Kelowna Rockets forward Dillon Dube (No. 38), who captained Canada to gold last month at the World Juniors.

That's good because the Flames have no 1st or 2nd round pick in this year's entry draft.

The Oilers don’t have any players in the top 50.

That's also good :D

Guess if I'm being biased, Liljegren is probably one of the 50 best prospects right now and Dermott would still qualify under Buttons's rules.

Liljegren is better than many that are on that list.

I guess injury time + lacklustre WJC is the reasoning for Liljegren being left off it but I'm not sure how guys like Philippe Myers or Adam Fox are viewed so much higher in comparison :noidea:

It's Greg Jay Buttons, as I have posted before, there are a few reasons why he is a former NHL GM.

their lottery picks go straight to the NHL, and they can't pick worth shit in later rounds.

Noah Dobson (Acadie-Bathurst, QMJHL) has seen a meteoric rise in his draft stock this season. Not ranked in the ISS Top 31 in October, Dobson now sits 10th in the draft rankings, and he has earned the jump due to his spectacular play so far this season. The defenceman has 52 points in 50 games played, to go along with a safe and reliable defensive element as well.

“Dobson just keeps getting better” says ISS Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “He’s the complete package, a big mobile two-way defenceman who is as steady as they come. He reads the game very well, has excellent hockey sense and mobility, and consistently makes smart decisions with the puck with high end puck control. He does everything hard, quick and with a purpose, and has good speed and quick feet for his size. He’s not the most physical player, but he knows how to get himself in the right position to shut down the rush. It’s tough to find a weakness in his game right now”.

During their dad's five years as director of player dev for the Leafs, the only guys to graduate full-time to the Leafs were Nylander, Rielly, Brown and Johnsson.

I wish them more success than he had.

he was probably concentrating full time on his kids lol

The Barrie Colts of the OHL were extremely happy to get Andrei Svechnikov back in their lineup for Game #6 of their first-round playoff series vs the Mississauga Steelheads. Svechnikov exploded for 5 points in the series clinching win, bringing the same dynamic offensive game he has displayed all year to the table.

“Svechnikov has impressed me every time I've seen him play this year” said ISS Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “He has a great combination of size, skating and puck skills to go along with his exceptional offensive hockey sense. He knows how to find the soft areas on the ice to score goals, and can really dangle for his size, showing outstanding one on one ability. He also has patience and playmaking to go along with a great release. He looks to be NHL ready next season and will be a future top line scoring winger.”
