Nylander too low is the first thought that jumps out at me. People don't appreciate what that kid did last year against men.

Also makes no fucking sense at all why Connor Brown wouldn't be in the top 100. 61 pts in your debut AHL season 1 year after leading the CHL in scoring is suddenly unimpressive?

Dal Colle finishes 12th in the OHL in scoring & is named to the OHL's 3rd team because he didn't light it up like some thought he should have. The thing is his team WON the MEMORIAL CUP & he was a BIG reason why.

I also think Barzal is UNDERRATED. As long as the Isles stay the course & allow their top prospects to develop like they have in recent years the future is EXTREMELY BRIGHT. It's hard not to be excited about the team right now.

Many of the guys ahead of Dal Colle are either from the same draft and farther along than he is or are top picks from this year's draft. He also wasn't good enough to crack Team Canada at the WJC (although Freddy the Goat did so lets call that one a fuckup). I think he's where he should be - good with a chance to be amongst the best with a little more work.

Still, if the Isles would like to trade Barzal and MDC for JVR and pretty much anything else they want I wouldn't hate it.

Draisaitl played with the Oilers last season. That should disqualify him.

So why should playing for a Junior A team disqualify him?

Don't leave me hanging guys!! dash? Lars Eller? You with me?

The one thing missing from North American professional sports leagues Kenny is relegation.

By the way, I think the following gif illustrates perfectly the excitement Oilers fans feel every summer only to be followed by the harsh realization when actual games are played:

I'm surprised Griffin Reinhart didn't slip down that list more. He's development has been paltry and the speed of the pro game is way to fast for him. Unless this guy takes some serious strides with his power skating/speed skating development, he'll be a pylon his entire career.

His numbers last year are a bit skewed since he missed a number of games due to trying to make the World Jr. team. I'm not saying he should be the top rated prospect. I'm saying he should be a bit higher than he is.

This could be a make or break year for Reinhart. If he can't make the Oilers lineup he could be in trouble.

I think the NHL is just too fast for him.

I'm willing to see what he can do this season. After training camp last year the Isles said Reinhart bulked up to much during the offseason. Reinhart said in an interview he knows this. We'll know soon enough whether or not he improved his skating during this offseason.

Part of me wants him to be a complete bust. I think we deserve that after Nino seems to have panned out nicely for MN!!
