Wiggins is not the answer though.

Covington and Teague would be a good deal for both.

Throw in Okogie and they might be on to something. DLo is more valuable than Covington and salary dump.

Probably true.

I like Covington’s fit though. And I think Teague, while a salary dump for sure, would be a pretty good 6th man for them. An upgrade over Livingston.

It's all talk. They are flipping him when Klay is back.

I agree but what if he plays really well and fits in with the team. Things change, I don't doubt that is the plan now but who really knows. Klay can play the 3.

Anything is possible but it's not the way to bet. That backcourt will be pretty small and defensively-challenged

I put anybody that is posting irrelevant to the O/P subject, or is deliberately diverting it on ignore... I guess it was you this time... Bye-bye!

Sad thing is,

This is actually a decent thread. But because of your reputation, you still get killed.

And when you post stupid things on the internet you are going to get called out for it. It is a simple fact of life.

Maybe instead of ignoring everybody you should learn from your mistakes and get better.

Russell isn't small, though. He's 6'4" or 6'5" tall with a 6'10" wingspan. Only 23 years old, so maybe the Warriors can develop him to be a good defensive player.

Russell though, has developed a game style that is completely different to Thompson's or KD's, he is a player that is more ON than OFF the ball... The Warriors have Curry that is the ballhandler and decision maker in the team...

Besides, it's the money involved... the Warriors have wisely decided (and against all trolls here) on what I was saying they should do in order (and was attacked by all the trolls) to not condemn the team's future... They are going below the lux tax threshold for this and the next season, so that they can go back above after the following two seasons... This will save them from paying the repeaters tax for another five seasons... It will be remarkable if they can still remain a contending team and to achieve this, they need a larger roster depth with good players on different roles, but to make the most out of any penny they have available under the lux tax threshold...

Why did they not keep bell for the minimum?

There are few guys with his upside you can get so young and cheap.

While it is possible that the Warriors will trade Russell sometime during the season, I think it is unlikely that they would bring him on with the PLAN to do so. They just don't have the cap flexibility to do something like that.

Furthermore if he plays well, then why would they want to trade him? If he doesn't play well then his trade value is going to be in the toilet so what would be the point?

I think of its more just asset acquisition and a "we'll figure it out later" type of move. I don't think they can actually make a determination of fit until they see how he really plays with Steph. Russell has some skill and with his passing and P&R ability, it'll allow Steph to play off ball at times and open up the floor. Defensively is where we'll see if he's compatible with the team. Offensively, I have no issues at all with the fit.
