Greg Hardy just left Valley Ranch with no deal.

Apprently left Valley Ranch to go to a restaurant to have dinner with the Cowboys and stayed in dallas overnight. Who knows if he will sign or not and I hope he doesn't if he is asking for big $'s, but stop with the BS just because it's not "your guy". You are the type of fan that will criticize a player on the team and root for that player to screw up in a game so you can come on and say 'I told you so'.

Also, teams almost always give physicals to FAs that they are in contract negotiations with...doesn't mean that every player that gets a physical will sign with a team? As Philly found out with Frank Gore it is NEVER a done deal until it is signed. I think it is clear that
Dallas has him IF they want him. If another team offers him a huge contract we need to do the smart thing and let him go. There is always another player and only a moron (Jerry of old) acts on impulse and sacrifices the long term for the short term. My gut tells me we hear today that he wil sign with Dallas. If so I will be very interested in the details of the contract. Still torn on this because of the off the field stuff, but this guy fills our biggest hole.

Well, he did leave valley ranch yesterday without a deal didn't he?? Lol... I never posted here that he wouldn't sign with them later? If you'll notice, while trying to post through all the hate here, I was the first to even report here that Hardy had left without a deal, so it was breaking news at that exact moment...keep digging here though. Maybe you and your other board buddies here can help you out with their assumptions of what I really meant with my every post, in trying to put words in my mouth? In fact, I like the Hardy signing for this team if it's a one year "prove it to me " deal. Again, reading comprehension issues here.

I will be unbelievably disappointed if he is not signed. This guy is an absolute game changer. A sack a game player cannot be understated. If Demarcus Lawrence progresses and becomes the pass rusher he showed glimpses of last year and who we traded up to get then we would have 2 real deal pass rushers. It also means we can truly focus on best player available in the draft. This would be a huge move.

I completely agree with you on both topics here. I'm done with him (see rule #2). I think Jerry finds a way to sign him. Hardy and Lawrence on the ends, moving Mincey inside with Crawford, would do wonders for our D, specifically the back end with a consistent pass rush, and allow us more flexibility in the draft. Obviously Rosenhaus is just using the Bucs now as leverage in negotiations to drive up his price, but we have to be careful here because of Hardy's situation with the league.

I think we can't lose track of what he did and what his history is. I agree with the on the field stuff completely, but this guy has a hstory of issues even if most are "minor" compared to what he did last year. The other part I agree strongly about is the draft. This truly does allow us to focus on BPA - which we generally do anyway. I had stated I wouldn't be thrilled with a RB in the first round, but if we ended up siging Hardy I would be fine with it if the team had a first round grade on the player

If we did that I would hope it would be only in passing situations because teams would absolutely shred us with the run if that was our starting DL. I think if Lawrence develops and Mincey played like he did last year it would give us a 3 man rotation at DE...and that's before looking at all of the other DEs on the roster and those that are currently FAs but were on the roster last year.

I think Mincey will stay at DE, and Dallas will draft a run stuffer, of which there are a ton in this years draft. Hardy is excellent against the run, adding a tank 1T would be a great move IMO

I have to imagine when they are trying to sign a player, it must be routine for the Cowboys to walk a player onto the field. If it was me, I would be asking for a pen before I got to the first hash mark
