it would be a tremendous on-field add. you just have to hope it doesn't somehow blow up off the field.

This is why I still have some reservation, but maybe this is what the dude needed to learn an expensive and valuable lesson. Hey dumbass you cant put your hands on women! The End!

Lets just hope the NFLPA gets their way and he is not suspended 6 games and misses less time ultimately. That would be great if the Cowboys could get him on the field earlier than first reported. I mean the guy did virtually miss an entire season last year. Jerry's people may can help him in his issues with the league, more than Carolina's people did or could have?
From what I've heard, he's likely to get 2 games. Sounds like it's a done deal, the Cowboys have added a fantastic player

He is a good player but also a high risk signing.

It'll be interesting to see if its a one year deal or long-term. If he doesn't straighten out, he could lose a full season in the future like Josh Gordon. If he does straighten out, it's a grand slam. It's like signing a 26 year old Osi Umenyiora

A long term deal would be foolhardy.

He's subject to the previous code of conduct not the one that was announced last August which does call for a 6 game suspension, so if under the old one it was two games then that will be it. If he's already served his suspension I don't think the NFLPA will stand by and let him miss more games.

Cowboys To Sign Greg Hardy
March 18th at 2:05pm CST by Zach Links
2:05pm: The structure of the contract seems to be the hang-up in the Cowboys’ discussions with Hardy, but both sides remain confident that a deal will be finalized, tweets Albert Breer of the NFL Network.

1:44pm: Both sides say there’s no deal yet, but it’s hard to see how a deal won’t get done at this point, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com (on Twitter).

Meanwhile, Bucs GM Jason Licht spoke to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times (on Twitter) about his decision not to pursue Hardy. “At the end of the day, we didn’t feel good about it,” Licht said.

1:36pm: Greg Hardy has agreed to sign with the Cowboys, according to Dianna Marie Russini of NBC 4 (on Twitter). Hardy was said to have narrowed things down to the Cowboys and the Buccaneers on Wednesday and Dallas became the clear leader once the Bucs no longer were showing interest.

Hardy, who had 15 sacks in 2013 for the Panthers before missing most of the 2014 season, remains on the commissioner’s exempt list as the league completes its review of his case. Hardy remains eligible to sign a new contract, even on the exempt list. There has yet to be a decision from the NFL on what kind of discipline the 26-year-old will face.

Hardy did nothing wrong. We are talking about a decision in the courtroom based on emotion with no evidence

The Cowboys got a topnotch defensive player but I wonder if the contract is long term.

He's only 26 so it could be but the hang up might be how the Cowboys get out of it if he repeats his bad behavior since the issue is a structure one.

I would would be "really" surprised if it is more than 2 years, likely just a 1 year prove it deal. Maybe the Boys took a bigger chance though. More to come real soon

He's a difference maker, will walk in as the best player on the D(even my boy Lee). Hopefully McClain is up next, and a defense heavy draft
