105.3 The Fan's Radio Stations Mike Fisher is reporting that the Cowboys are in negotiations with Greg Hardy to become a Dallas Cowboys.

Just heard it on the Radio no links yet
I guess Jerry doesn't care about Hardy's off-field issues.

If we add Hardy and he's half the player he was, Demarcus Lawrence continues to improve as well as Hitchens, bring back McClain and hope he can come close to duplicating last year, get Lee to stay healthy for at least most of the season, those are some serious playmakers on that defense. That doesn't include what we could add in the draft.

What brent did was much worse. Signing hardy makes sense on many levels. He would cause match up problems and if we got him and drafted another good defensive lineman the defense would be much better. Also notice how much better the Panthers defense was with him playing

6 game suspension isn't the end of the world. If he can step in and make an impact in week 7 then I'm good. As long as he's there for the playoff push/playoffs that's all that matters.

Their season may be over by game 7

Jerry is in a win-now mode with Romo,

Was letting Ware go win now?
Was letting Murray go win now?
Was signing McFadden for a fucking ham sandwich win now?

There is a difference between win now and being opportunistic. A good reason why Hardy is a conversation is because there may be a discount to get him.

What Jerry is doing and your not is looking at the world for a 12 and 4 standpoint. He's not spending like a desperate man who is 4 and 12.

His agent publicly stated yesterday that 7 NFL teams have contacted him and he will give all of them an opportunity to talk with Hardy. I wouldn't paste a Star on the side of his helmet just yet.

I was listening to the Fan this morning as well and I have to say I was one who last week who said we'd be crazy not to go after him. After hearing the details of what he did though I'm not as eager to make that decision couple that with him facing a 6 game suspension I think I lean towards no. Imagine him and Randle having a night out on the town.

I think Randall is gone the moment Dallas drafts a RB. We will have McFadden, Dunbar, Williams, and rookie RB. Randall will be in another teams uniform.

Yea, that's not good. And honestly that sounds about right. It made no sense that the Cowboys were the only team that realized the opportunity.

Funny you said the Star. Maybe playing for the Star gives us a leg up. Especially now that we are contending,

Not sure about this. With Cobb resigned, I think as long as Rodgers stays healthy you can't say their season will be over by that point, but I do see them likely taking a step back.

No one has and to be honest I don't really see anyone jumping to say it would be a no brainer good thing to do. Being as this is a message board and all it would be pretty slow if we waited until after everything was formally announced to discuss the pros and cons of it. Thanks for taking the time to poke your nose in though:boink:

I thought it was obvious. I was responding to your comment that you thought the Packers were going to be out of it by week 7:noidea:

I disagree. Yes, Sea has been stockpiling pass rushers the last few years and didn't have the same pass rush last season, but I don't see them giving him the most money and I think he is going to the team that does.

Seattle and Tampa have more cap space so they can obviously give him more

Seattle has more cap space, but they also have a lot of good young players that will need new deals over the next year or two. If Hardy went there, it would be on a short term deal IMO

If they can come to an agreement on the numbers that are fair both ways due Hardy being on Herr Goodell's exemption list I don't think that he goes anywhere else. Drew Rosenhaus and Jerry and company go back a long ways
