Flyers Re-Sign Ray Emery

Started to look more and more like they would re-sign Razor and they did - I'm not mad or anything, I just wanted someone who was a little younger, but this should be okay for one more year

Not a fan of this. He showed how broken he is against the Rangers and I can't imagine he is getting better

I agree, but I guess with all of the backups getting signed elsewhere, they didn't have much other choice

He's going to have to accept being a backup, and Mase will need to play a lot more next season

Mase must play more next year than he did this past year. the salary discrepancy alone warrants it, let alone the quality of play.

That's ok that will bridge the gap for one of the younger guys....better than signing marty for 3 years or something stupid like that. Even though he was a little broken he still stole one game against the rags he can hold his own during the regular season. I'm sure they tried to get Montoya but apparently he went to Florida for the weather after being in Winnipeg for a year.

I would have rather Peters but...this is okay for a one year deal. As long as Mason is healthy and ready to go when the playoffs roll around.

Flyers also signed forward Blair Jones:


He scored 17 goals and 38 points in 38 games in the AHL this past season so at the very least it gives them a good player in the AHL

But he might have provided the spark that turned the Flyers' season around last season.

Lets hope Mase has an injury free year because we saw what Emery could do when being called on to be the starter for a significant amount of time. I thought they would go away from Emery for that reason alone but it could be worse.
