It's my only legal option if I want to watch most the Lions games in Georgia. Fortunately, they do play 3-4 nationally televised games each year, but the other 12+ games I would need Sunday Ticket to watch them.
You guys are too honest. Easy to find sites that show the games. I dont pay for anything. Not even cable. Just internet. You can even find cell phone service for free. People tend to be spoiled and lazy and will just cough up the retail price for everything.

When you get to my age you will want everything for free. Trust me.

He was under contract for 2024 at $27.3M. He should now be under contract for '24, '25, '26, '27, & '28. The 2024 contract was under market expectations when he signed it with the Rams. (Normal for the Rams who use it as a base for extensions). If the Lions had forced him to play his contract I doubt he would have re-signed with them.
I am starting to think you are correct here. Initially I was leaning toward waiting but the more I thought about it the more I like doing the extension. Just think it is a little rich. I hope he earns it for sure. I will certainly be happy if he does.

Good point. Although I am not sure Goff means as much to the Lions success as those guys do to those teams. Lions have several high level players especially on offense.
The only QB of those guys I would trust in the Lions offense other than Goff would be Herbert.

But it’s not like he has elevated the players he had a his disposal either. And he doesn’t utilize the TE like Goff does either, so would LaPorta have had the same season with Herbert as he did with Goff? Not likely.

Do you just sit in your house and sweat when it gets hot? You know, to save $1.23 a day by not having air conditioning?

The sooner the better on a deal for GB.

Love is the shit. That offense is gonna be fun to watch.
I'm not sold.
He has a half of a year of good football.
& now they all have film on him.

Not saying he wont end up the way you are thinking. Just. I am not sold on that yet.

For me it’s much less of a risk to lock down someone you already have.

When teams go looking to add a franchise QB, cost is usually much more than money. Longterm options don’t often show up on the FA market.

so many teams think grass greener on the other side. get burned.
If you think you have a Franchise QB you keep him. While fans think we could get better.
Like there is another mahomes right around the corner waiting to be signed.

Actually my cheap ass was smart enough to get central AC back when the economy almost collapsed 15 years ago.

Thats one thing I always do. Always take the deal when it is there, dont wait to buy something when its convenient.

Stealing isn’t taking the deal though.

As ever, the contract details are important, the cap numbers - not so much.
It's a 4 year $193.511M contract with an option year at $47M. In real terms it's a 3 year extension at $156M, (which includes a non-refundable deposit of about $1.87M for the 5th year), on top of the existing 1 year at $27M deal. Less than 3 full years are fully guaranteed at signing. A proportion of the 4th year, (less than 50%), becomes guaranteed before the 3rd year starts. Solidly constructed contract. Not sure Goff would have gotten more than $156M for 3 years if he had been forced to play out his final season so the extension is a little bit pricey. Then again i'm not sure what the Lions would have gotten from Goff in 2024 if they hadn't extended him.

The total cost for the Lions getting out of the contract early, (after 2026), would be $171.611M, and that's if they don't want to retain Goff for 2027 at an additional $22M.

Packers are going to be far better than people expect. They fired Joe Barry, the Matt Canada of defensive coordinators.

Packers are stacked on defense, and now have the coaching to show it.

A lot of first rounders on that side of the ball, but most of those guys are pretty average.
