Damn, that's less then what Chase Daniels makes as a back up.
They got him over a barrel, because nobody else seems interested. His best leverage move is to retire. Jets got jack shit at QB without him, see what they think of that. He can always come out of retirement if someone ponies up a one year deal if their starting QB go down.

So the Jets are drafting another QB next year?

This is why I think Fitz has the upper hand. Pay him and the Jets have a chance for the playoffs, chance Geno and expect a 3 or 4 win season.

They are counting on he won't retire and signing as a backup at the moment is less then 8 million.

If he retires he has to sit a year or come back to the Jets. I believe there is a clause that allows the Jets to waive that and allow him to play elsewhere? But too lazy to research it tonight.

What? He's a free agent nobody owns his rights, he can sign right now with who ever, don't see why retiring would change that.

My bad. I thought he was under contract with the Jets. It was the amount he was not happy with and wanted more?

He offer to sign a one year deal for 12 mil. Jets want him to sign a 3 year deal for 24, they say a one year deal is worth only 8 mil.

Now that I think about it, he doesn't need to retire, just wait. Jets are really wanting to put the screws to him, I'd want to sign elsewhere just in spite.

I was thinking he signed a two year deal with the Jets last yr. It was actually a 2 yr deal with Hou the year before.

At this point he should hold out. With the limited # of quality QBs $12 million is cheap. I'm surprised someone =Denver hasn't sniffed the water.

IMHO Fitz is worth 12 as a starter in today's market.

Hold out and after a couple starters go down he'll get 12.

Considering what Oz and Bradford got, 12 mil is on the cheap end and the Jets are dopes for taking that contract off the table.

No doubt. Houston feels Os is their guy? Personally I think they got cold feet, had cap $, and decided to pull the trigger a little early during FA? However, if he ends up top 15-20 $18 million a yr.will be cheap come 2020.

Bradford:scratch: I got nothing:2cents:

I can't blame Houston for what they did. It's difficult to get good QB play so might as well roll the dice on Oz and over pay and if it does pay off, 18 mil a yr becomes a very good deal. The Bradford contract is awful.
