As a completely unbiased NBA fan I think the Lakers are fine. They don't need to improve anything.

Duarte is a player I'd like us to get. He is expected to be there when we draft?
Right now? Yes it seems so

Kind of. I checked some mocks and they show him going anywhere from going to the Grizzlies at #17 to the Sixers at #28.

Corey Kispert would be someone else for them to look at. Some think he may be the best shooter in the draft. He shot something like 44% from 3. Saw him projected anywhere from #15 to the Wizards to #22 to the Lakers.

They need more shooting, they dont necessarily need a 3rd AS player but that would be icing on the cake. Reliable, more consistent shooters. Schroder wasn’t a great fit and Kuzma is pretty awful. I think Dwight was a guy they would have loved to keep, Gasol was a downgrade
Unfortunately, Gasol was the best free agent shooter they added.

Duarte to the lakers makes so much sense it’s ridiculous.

he’s already basically his peak age.

he can shoot and doesn’t need to create his own offense with bron around.

he’s a 3 and d role player who isn’t a child

He's my top target, provided he's still there at their pick. That's my only caveat; you never know who's going to slip.

Yeah, it sounds like it would be something of a gamble. If they let him go and keep the full mle, they would have more money to go after a better player, but it would suck if that player didn't work out and THT blossomed with another team.

But if they keep him, have less money to add someone and it turns out his ceiling wasn't that high after all....that would also suck.

Lebron claims a lot of responsibility for the THT pick. I don't think they let him go. Also, his agent is Rich Paul.......cue conspiracy theory music.

Lowry is tough as nails?

do you know how many times ive watched Kyle Lowry fall apart in the playoffs?

it was like a yearly tradition for a while.

dude is gonna be 36 before next years playoffs and cant cover anyone. I cant imagine watching him matched up against a Curry or Cp3 or Doncic or Dame or Mitchell or Murray in the West.

Well, he is a lot tougher than you.

That I would bet on.

And IF he were signing for a vet min he would be a great get for anyone.

My exact thoughts for Golden State is outside of Cade perhaps their best fit is a guy like Mitchell. Detroit landed a guy like Bey who would be a great fit on a contender. Again..older guys more ready to play.

Personally I don't always understand the phenomenon with young guys. The older, more seasoned draftees play just as long if they hit. It's not like guards drafted at 20 play until they are 39.

It isn’t about that.

It is drafting a projected ceiling.

The guys who stay in school 3-4 years are usually there because their ceiling wasn’t high enough for them to go sooner.

It is a gamble, for sure. But hard to pass on a player with star potential for a guy who projects as a long term role player.

Even if he would help a team like the Warriors immediately.

That is funny.

Reading this I was thinking, 17, you all got no shot then.

Then I remembered the Lakers aren’t picking at the end of the 1st this year.

Ah! Another benefit of going out early! Rest and draft pick position. Still, not consoling enough, lol...

Nice try, but you failed. The expectations for the Celtics this season were nowhere near the Lakers. Boston had a disappointing season. L.A.'s season was a failure. Weren't they favored to come outta the WC at one point?

I haven’t seen Kispert mocked outside the lottery.

Not since the injuries hit. And if we didn't have injuries...chances are we wld come out of the WC.

That wasn't my point DJ. You can disagree with me all you want. But it was the Lakers that were picked to go to the Finals and not the Celtics. Because of that the Lakers had the more disappointing season.

Ok.

That is why Boston is making wholesale changes.

I'm expecting at least a couple of Lakers beat writers to write convoluted articles about how they could make that work and some Lakers fans to start spouting off about it, just about any day now. :L

If Pelinka pulled that off...they should name the Executive of the Year trophy after him. Or put him in jail for grand larceny because that's about what it would take. lol
He is signed for 3 or 4 more seasons so no one should be writing articles like that.
