But Kuz isn’t really an asset at his salary. Might even be a liability.

And the Lakers could easily find roles for both.
Kuz and 22 can get you something interesting.

Or maybe They use those 2 to get a cheaper rotation player so they can most comfortably use the big mle again

do they take Kuz and 22 so they have an extra first to dump deandre?

I think that just about any significant move the Lakers make would have to involve sign and trades. I read an article saying that they are interested in Mike Conley, but they'd have to sign and trade Schroder and the Jazz would have to sign and trade Conley. Conley would also have to take a little less than he would likely get from another team.

Or they can use 22 to draft that cheaper rotation player. I wouldn't move the pick unless a BIG trade was in play; I don't believe big moves are in the offing for LA this summer. Sure, they may deal Kuzma and/or Schroder, but likely for similar talent levels that would be better fits.
