Well, that hurts, I know it's just a gut feeling, but I just have a nagging feeling that that super bowl was their one chance. I hope I'm wrong, and there's lots of reasons to feel that way -- unlike other teams with super bowl losses we have a qb that I really believe will be better this year, Aldon and Justin may be healthy for the end of the season, our receiver position may actually be improved in the playoffs once crabs comes back, but still.

Ugh. Painful. Though that penalty was frankly one of the least offensive blown calls in the game IMO. You just can't expect a penalty on that play unless the guy drags Crabtree down.

I'm just going to rationalize it in my mind that "catchable" does not equal "would've been caught" and that just like the NFCC game in 2011, we could have won had we played better the first three quarters (not all KW's fault).

Sure, that doesn't mean he wouldn't have caught it, but that was so close and just because he could drag the feet and know where the line was and could catch it, doesn't mean it would've happened.

I would have liked the chance and yes, the guy on the video was able to go without contact within five yards. Too many variables and too little we can do about it. Rationalization, on!

We blew a lot of opportunities in that game, the defense, the secondary, the offense failing to get going until the blackout. Had they gotten to the line quicker on the earlier play that called for a kaepernick run he would have easily scored a td.
