Big Ben - Easy #1 of these 3. After looking at the stats it's even easier.

Rivers -

Eli - He just hasn't been that great. If I had to take one of them (Rivers or Eli)in their prime on my team, it would be Rivers. I'm not a huge Rivers fan either.

In my opinion, neither should make the HOF.

Fat Ben with the repaired elbow? Before he got hurt, yeah. Now, no.

Indy thought the same thing about Peyton having neck surgery or San Diego with Brees

sure, he tarnished his reputation the last few seasons... But the Giants were a bad team, they made him look even worse than he was...
He also struggled at the start of his career. It's hard to ignore the career record of 117-117 and low YPA.

Eli was a franchise QB for a few years and he came up big in a couple of moments.

Eli is David Freese. You can think he is awesome while also looking at the entire picture

LOL david Freese... someone who other than a cardinal fan would never even mention in a sentence...

If you want to make a baseball comparison, I think the closest but still imperfect, is Gaylord Perry... He just played for too long, and people only remember the suckiness… not the good...

Perry, though was great, when he was good... Manning never had the elite peak... he just had the VERY good peak...

But he is not going in because of that... He will go into the HOF for 3 reasons

1. longevity-compiled stats to make his career totals good
2. won 2 SBs
3. is a Manning

But when you compare Manning with Rivers, Rivers is a similar compiler... But has better overall regular season numbers...

But he has no championships at all and has been much worse overall in the playoffs...

If you rank Rivers over Manning, then you are simply a Manning Hater...

Eli's playoff career just kinda makes you laugh. Had two years of playoff success but made them count obviously. 8-0 in the two super bowl years and then one and done 4 different times.

1. Big Ben - he's got the regular season numbers, accolades and SB wins
2. Eli - worst overall regular season numbers and worst peak but two special playoff runs and longevity as well. You could call him the Namath of his era.
3. Rivers - nice regular season numbers. Not good in the playoffs

All these guys have the longevity

When was that? Maybe 2009 when he was the 11th highest rated QB. Went 8-8.

Outside of the Super Bowl wins, his stats are not good. Not even close to HOF numbers.
If Flacco wins a Super Bowl with Denver next year, are you fine with putting him in the HOF too?

They have the exact same QB Rating lol. It's funny Eli's best regular seasons came after the SB wins.

Phillip Rivers unfortunately had a few what ifs that could have changed things for him but it is what it is.

In 2006 if Marlon McCree just stays down after picking off Brady
In 2007 if Rivers doesnt tear his ACL in Indy and LT is healthy
In 2009 if Kaeding doesnt miss 3 FGs
In 2014 if Denver doesnt convert a 3rd and 17 late followed by two more 3rd downs later in that drive to kill the clock

Despite all that he's still missing the year where he was good enough to carry the team to a SuperBowl despite the other stuff. Thats what Ben and Eli have over him

you like your comparison of Flacco and Eli... But it is not a good one... Eli has better per game numbers... more yards, more TDs and has played 65 more games...

so, really Flacco needs to play 65 more games to compile even similar numbers, and he would have to do better than his career average, just to have the same numbers...

and then he needs one more SB too...

Flacco also never made the pro-bowl, manning did 4 times...

get a better comparison....

Actually I have a great deal of respect for him but a homer has to be a homer.

I'd like to consider myself a resident Philip Rivers hater.

I just know that Nick Foles and Joe Flacco aren't Hall of Famers. I know that Ryan Tannehill and Jake Plummer aren't great football players just because they beat the Patriots.

Eli will make the Hall of Fame because the NFL isnt very strict with that. He is just the third best football player on the list.

So you think Flacco would need more average numbers to get in if he wins another SB? Eli manning has more average numbers so he is more deserving? I don't like that logic.

Maybe better per game numbers for Eli but I'm not certain.
YPG - Eli 241, Flacco 234
TD% - Eli 4.5, Flacco 3.7
INT% - Flacco 2.4, Eli 3.0
Rushing yards (career) Flacco 831, Eli 537

Pretty close. I don't think Flacco should get in either.

Pro Bowls don't mean anything. We all know it is mostly a popularity contest.

I do think pro bowls mean something and Eli is above Flacco but Rivers had to compete with Brady, Manning, Ben, and Mahomes for pro bowls. Who did Eli compete with?

my question is. Why you searching for a comparison when there was one easy one already out there in rivers. Basically rivers is a slightly better Manning with no SB wins. Both compiled there ways to the record books.

flacco is a terrible comparison.
