my question is. Why you searching for a comparison when there was one easy one already out there in rivers. Basically rivers is a slightly better Manning with no SB wins. Both compiled there ways to the record books.
7.0 YPA vs 7.8 YPA is not slightly better.

The 2 biggest differences between rivers and manning.

Manning won 2 sb vs rivers 0

rivers reputation to find ways to lose
Manning had the reputation of clutch qb until recent years.

I'll give you that. Eli beat the Patriots twice and that his reputation.

I think its fair to say that if Eli Manning throws that ball to David Tyree 20 times, Tyree probably only catches it once.

flacco is a terrible comparison.
If Flacco wins another SB, he is a great comparison. His and Eli's numbers per season are pretty close. Not sure why you don't see that. Yes, Eli has played average for a longer period of time, but they are very similar in season stats.

Why we fixated on that one play. Amazing plays happen all the time. Lucky plays happen all the time. What about big penalties. Those happen all the time too.
That play wasn’t even the TD.

without it would the giants have won?? Probably not. But you can say that about many single plays throughout the history of the nfl.

if flacco wins another sb, sure you can compare them. But Eli would still be ahead of him because of playing more games at the same rate. You forget the compiler aspect is a big reason Eli will make the hof.

Manning is easily the most overrated qb of all time. The Giants defense won those two superbowls.. elite QBs simply dont throw as many picks as Manning did. Stats dont lie

Heard a good take on ESPN the other day. Manning is a 50/50 QB best known for a 50/50 throw.

Indeed. Realistically all three of these QBs are getting into the HOF.

Its just that Ben is the only one who should probably go imo and maybe not even first ballot

Eli didnt beat the patriots. He just didnt lose to them. Which is still a good feat for a QB.
The Giants defense stopped two great Patriot teams. Held them to what was it? 14 & 17 pts. That is what "won" those super bowls.

Run that play 20 times, and Eli gets sacked on 19 of them.

I would argue, he is becoming one of the more under-rated ones...

Eli managed to beat the Gators. That makes him better than his brother.

it is called a team sport.
Against GB they gave up 31 pts.
(Eli would have lost if his defense gave up that many)
Now against the Seahawks. he just flat out sucked. Even though they won. he shouldnt have been celebrated.

So while you want to focus on the two super bowl games (for their whole careers) to try & make a comparison against a QB that has played way better than him throughout their whole careers. keep this in mind.

Outside of those two super bowls, since you are hooked on post season play. Eli manning was 1 & done every time he made the playoffs. he is not quite as clutch as you want to believe.

Fat Ben with the repaired elbow? Before he got hurt, yeah. Now, no.

"fat" ben, sure
EN4QtvUVAAEmCdA

and you haven't seen him play a single snap since his elbow surgery, so just like the rest of us, you don't know how much his accuracy/velocity/etc will be affected. in other words, piss off bunghole fan

also, Eli was known for 4th quarter come backs and clutch play for most of his career... I think we get blinded by his prolonged suckiness the past few years...

But Eli was also bad to mediocre for most of his career.
