Eli manning - elite or 2nd tier QB?

Is Eli Manning an elite NFL QB or a 2nd tier (2nd level) of NFL QB talent?

  • Eli is elite

  • He's a nice QB, but is 2nd tier

  • Potato salad (no hard boiled eggs, fuck that)

Its cool, maybe you can Bradys* balls out of your mouth tonight long enough to sit down and have a nice dinner with the family

It appears that you're experiencing especially heavy bleeding today and the cramps are making you crabby.

Try Midol. My future ex-wife always said it was effective.

If this poll asked if Eli was the luckiest QB of all time I wonder how many YES votes he'd get?

He's definitely not elite, good but not elite. Made some big plays in 2 SB runs but also had a defense mostly shut down great offenses to give him a chance.

thanks for the vote and discussion.

he's easily 2nd tier to smart football fans.

How can you win 2 SB's and not be elite ??
And what a coincidence that both of them was against Tommy boy and he outplayed him both times and sent him home empty handed....
If Eli is not elite, then neither is Brady, Peyton or AR.....He's not a media whore like some of the others, but he's got the hardware, and that spells elite in my book....That's all !!

Is Tom Brady elite? If yes, then so is Eli. After all he beat him head to head in games which matter the MOST.

I mean, a QB having a 2-0 lead over another QB, who is proclaimed as elite, has to be elite, right?
...hmm,....i guess that make's Buffalo's qb last night (almost) elite,.....the giANT's pass-rush was "elite" back in 2007......idiot Eli was just fkkn lucky..!

Probably closer to 3rd tier if Im putting guys like Cam Newton in tier 2.

Eli has made a couple of fantastic plays in his career but Giants defense deserves a lot of credit as well as receivers making great catches that they probably dont make on a routine basis at all.

ask jim plunkett.

sincerely,

football

Jim stumbled into 1 as did Doofus Dilfer, that is not elite, that is elucky.....:D
Eli did it twice to arguably the top team of the last 2 decades, at least to Pat fans anyway, that my friend is elite in anyone's book but a stubborn homer....

He threw for over 4900 yards in 2011 and took a team dead last in rushing to the Superbowl. That's a bit more than lucky. That being said he's a solid 2nd tier, you have to factor in the man has never missed a game.

He has led the league in interceptions 3 times and his Yards Per Attempt is 7.1.

Aaron Rodgers is 8.1. Russell Wilson is 8.0. Big Ben is 7.9. Philip Rivers is 7.8. Tom Brady is 7.5. Cam Newton is 7.5. Drew Brees is 7.5. Carson Palmer is 7.3. Matt Ryan is 7.2. Andy Dalton is 7.2. Jay Cutler is 7.2.

He is most like is Andrew Luck (7.0) and Joe Flacco (7.0). So 12-14th best QB overall probably before factoring in durability and clutch factor.

Honestly, those 2 things are hard to rate. I think you could argue that you'd rather have Eli than Luck, Cutler, Dalton and Ryan so maybe 8th-10th best QB in the league overall.

I'm going on more body of work career wise. He's had elite seasons and he's had bad seasons. He also dealt with some extremely bad run games (This year again) and bad O lines. Anyone rated 6-10 I consider 2nd tier. In a big game I'd take him over quite a few better rated QB's.
