Aside from saving Wentz's ass twice what else has he done? He has enough failure in his career to cause some caution.

I don't think anybody had suggested anything like this. They are maneuvering to trade Foles.

There are a lot of moves the team will make to drop 30+ in cap space. Unfortunately it may mean losing one of their best defensive players in graham.

I think there's a good likelihood that a trade agreement in principle has already been made (obviously won't be made public) as I can't see the Eagles keeping Foles at 20 mil (Option), 23 mil (Non-Exclusive Tag), or 25 million (Fran Tag). Not only does it not make sense financially, but if Wentz is fully healthy it doesn't make sense to have him looking over his shoulder at his backup making that kind of cash. If the team has committed to Wentz then it's time to either trade Foles or let him walk. I can't see the Eagles taking a chance on having Foles' salary on this year's Cap and the Eagles front office has been great on working the cap and making trades. I think if the Eagles do pick up his option or tag him it's because they are fully confident they will move him.

IMO I think it's a good move to keep Foles. The Eagles can now trade Wentz, but they would be lucky to get a 3/4 round draft pick for him. Wentz really hasn't shown all that much as an NFL QB.

Let's see how they get there (and yeah, getting rid of Foles would help).

You might want to check Wentz's stats and see what he has done for the Eagles since 2016. Compare that to what Foles has done the last two years.

Stats since 2016? Passer rating of 101.9 in 2017 and 102.2 in 2018.
