Did you read the financial report above? It is suicidal for GSW if they sign him on a supermax.... they'll pay some 350M insalaries and taxation.
zero chance that Green, Durant, Klay and Curry will all be on GSW together all under max contracts. You are correct.

the most they can keep those 4 together is 1 more year at best before Draymond gets his extension- and even that is doubtful.

the cost is too exhorbitant. CBA is not even really built to keep 3 max guys together for the long term, let alone 4. Its unrealistic- it has nothing to do with being cheap or saving money etc...its just not realistic.

No question he still gets paid, teams just have to take that risk. Has anyone truly ever been the same after this injury though? That’s the real question and the shame of it all.

The most recent that I saw was Kobe. But he was already old and declining.

Boogie looked pretty good until that 2nd injury. We'll know more with him next year when he's had time to get in shape.

But, as @tlance said, 80% of KD is probably still All NBA.

Lacob don't care. He's the real spender not your boy Dan Gilbert

I can see a team doing that for a few years to keep a title team together.

But even for teams that practically print money, I don't think it's sustainable for very long though.

But 2-4 years to keep a dynasty type team together? Definitely could see that.

OR.... In case Durant exersises his team option, they LET THOMPSON GO and SAVE some... 100M!

OR (even better) KD exercises his team option, but GS trades him for ...JR SMITH and ADDITIONALLY let Thompson go and SAVE 220M+....

That's all I'm saying, they are making bank on the new arena and not just from basketball, it's now the premier concert venue in the Bay for major acts. For a couple years they will take the hit. It may not be up to them if KD leaves though

It's not my dad, or yours. It's a couple billionaires. It's not a problem

No big fucking deal for the NBA at all. It is what it is. There are several player moves that will affect the future of the NBA. Who gives a shit?

Not quite yet. The real bill comes when it's time for Draymond's extension.

Assuming KD stays, that's when they will have some really tough decisions to make.

True, maybe in a year it's a different story

He'll be back to his old self in 5-8 months.
5 or 8 or 12 or NOT being like before, or BE like before... really doesn't make a difference or matters at all...

The question here is simply "who pays the 220+M bill"...
