I see a trend with Fisher. His teams are always slow out of the gate. And his Defenses take a long time to get going. We always finish the year strong and I think it gives everyone false hope at the beginning of every year. Hopefully they get these issues ironed out before Philly because they might just open up a can of whoop ass.

If austin continues to get playing time and puts up numbers like he did last week there's no need to draft another QB. Maybe take one in the 3rd round and develop. I'm tired of taking QB's with our top pick.

...because it's happened once since 1964?

I agree with the Russell Wilson comparison for Mariota, but the Oregon offense doesn't require him to progress through his reads much. There will be an adjustment period to the NFL compared to Russell.

Yes and the PAC 12 is long way away from the NFL as far as defenses are concerned.

But still, Marriotta stayed 1 more year to work on footwork and he will learn to go through progressions once in the NFL. He's got a lot of tools.

I dunno I'm still hesitant on drafting MM so high in the draft. Anything after top 10 if he's still there then maybe ok.

Russel Wilson........Lets take a look at him and his situation.

-He got drafted to an ascending team.
-Plays for an innovative coach and play callers.
-Has one of the best RB's in the league
-One of the best Defenses I've seen since dreaded Tampa 2 bucks.
-the 12th man.

Do the Rams have any of that?
We can't even figure out how to use TA appropriately.
I think we have to look at not so much the player but team that he goes to.

Are we predicting the Rams to go 2-14? Mariotta is going top 2 unless he falls off a cliff like Geno Smith

Where ever we pick in the first round, there will be a decent QB there if we believe we need one.

  • Mariota
  • Winston
  • Hundley
But there will be others too in later rounds.

  • Hogan
  • Cook
  • Mannion
  • Petty
This is an excellent year to draft a QB.

There are 3 maybe 4 locks at obtaining a Franchise QB's from those two short lists alone.

Now which will be studs and which will be duds can be a crap shoot.

What Vita said. This is the next QB loaded class.

We have to draft a QB if for nothing else.. IF Austin Davis does keep ballin, for competition.

My default assumption is that Winston will go back to school. Hundley had a signature game so maybe he can put himself in that top 5 discussion but Winston is going to get picked apart.

I agree that the Rams probably will be looking QB at some point. If anything, this league has proven that you need 2 QBs. Although maybe Bradford is that 2nd QB. Still many chapters left with Davis to see what he has.

If Jameis Winston goes back to school next year, he's gonna get kicked out by then unless Something changes. He's on his last life as it is.

Yeah, it's tough to project Winston back to school. It's not like his school is backing him fully lately.

That kind of player probably is left off 20+ big boards. Maybe all of them

...which means the athletically more talented player slides because of off the field stuff. Sounds like a Jeff Fisher wet dream.

I've been following Bryce Petty from the start of last season's college games. He's all heart in addition to his leadership and passing skills. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I'm all in on him!

SJ76 - For some reason he's not getting much first round projection in some of the latest mock drafts.

Checked Walterfootball's latest mock draft tonight. He's got us taking Brett Hundley.

Yea SJ76. That ASU/USC game was very cool. My hometown ASU SunDevs pulled it out at the end.
