It definitely could but at the same time not like they have had anything to get too excited about since Marino retired. They are taking a bold risk with all of these moves but I think it is one worth taking. I would say for Gase though the rest of his coaching hires better be some guys with some experience. Can't go completely all rookie coaches. Have to see who the rest of his staff is that he assembles before my final judgment on all of this. I will say though that even with all the chaos that has gone on in Miami they are still a very talented team. Tannehil has moments of brilliance just needs a coach that can get that out of him on a more consistent basis. They have a great WR core, Lamar Miller is a pretty good RB, a decent OL, and defensively they have quite a few young talented players. I would say of all the coaching positions that were open Miami has a claim as being the most talented team available.

I definitely agree about Tannehill - he looks very good at times, and Gase will definitely be the best thing he's had since being drafted

Looks like the Lions are meeting with Caldwell today to decide whether he still has a job. Early reports are it does not look good for him being the Lions HC next year.

Mrs. Ford doesn't have patience. At her age she needs a quick turnaround .

Yeah kind of reminds me of the Raiders with Al Davis where he tried to buy a championship setting his team back years upon years and kept firing every head coach that couldn't turn the entire team around in a single season.

I will say that I don't think Caldwell was the best choice. I think he was hired because he was the exact opposite of their former coach that would bring discipline to the players and the organization. Beyond that though I just don't think he is the best X's and O's guy. I do wonder who they would look at though. I could see McDaniels actually wanting that job. They have the pieces to run his spread them out and launch it style of offense that he loves to run.

I love all the coaching changes - this always leaves players available that can help the teams that stand pat.

Yup I still can't believe that teams haven't caught on that it takes a decent time to turn things around. You can't just expect that your team goes from top-10 pick to Super Bowl contender in 1 year. I mean some of the top coaches in NFL history it wasn't until 3-5 years into their coaching that they started seeing steady results of success.

Money talks. These players are willing to take a big contract with the idea that they don't know if they will be in the league in 2-years from now. I mean even the big name veterans know the big money is usually with some of the worst teams. I mean Oakland this next year has what $70 million in cap space. Jacksonville even more than that. Those are the teams that can actually afford to take on a huge contract. They have no big name players to actually resign so they hope that other teams top players that they can't afford will come save their organization by vastly overpaying for their services.

It is true but the NFL pressures these guys to sign for contracts that a year later they quickly regret. NFL owners know that especially throwing in that huge number of total value of the contract really gets these guys excited. Such as Colin Kaepernick's contract. Everybody freaked over the whole $114 million in total value. The thing is very few players ever even get close to total value of the contract. He only had $13 million of the actual contract guaranteed. So the 49ers cutting him after 1-year on his new contract really doesn't hurt them all that much. He ends up seeing very little of his contract. Still when signing on that dotted line that $114 million looks so good.

Don't forget - the players union also doesn't want guys signing below market value - because it lessens the market value for all players - so home town discounts are frowned upon by the brothers playing the game.

The players Union is not the person that gets cut because they weren't all beat all .. Going to teams that are in a free fall is the end of your NFL Dreams all to often .

A couple more years of this and he will be singing crape ass contracts and bouncing around the league

And yet he will have made enough money on this contract to be set for life if he chooses.

Looks like we have our next Coach Hire with Hue Jackson going to the Cleveland Browns. Sounds like they sweetened the pot giving him a lot more control in Cleveland than what he would have had anywhere else. Seems about the only way Cleveland can get any interest in the position

I liked what Hue was doing with the Raiders a few years back - seems he had them going in the right direction, and had given them an identity .. And in true Raider fashion, they pulled the rug out from under him

I think he'll do good things in Cleveland

Just hope the same thing doesn't happen to him in Cleveland as they have done that a few times as well. You are right he was the first coach that actually had the Raiders looking like a decent team in years. I couldn't believe they fired him after all the crap the team had put on the field for years but then again it was Al Davis and not sure he was in his right mind those last 5-10 years.

And the 49ers choose Chip Kelly over Mike Shanahan. Interesting choice.

Truth be told, I would say they made the right choice of the two

Chip Kelly and Kap is going to be very interesting
