We have been breaking new case records daily here for over a week and the numbers are probably under reported in a big way. They started giving out take home rapid tests at testing locations to ease the stress on the system and those results arent counted in the new case counts … and they have closed 3 of the testing sites that were drive thru due to the arctic outflow weather we are having.

Its crazy how many people i know who have caught it in the last week/10 days. Entire families … all vaxxed (some boosted too) with exception of kids under 5. And its hitting them quite hard. The unvaxxed will get fucked up by this variant.

A co-worker texted me he tested positive as a head up since I was in the office with him last week. Its been 7 days but just out of precaution he let me know. He is double vaxxed and boosted and is still feeling pretty bad. His whole house has it now. Luckily his kids, 5 and 2 (ages - not their names), are doing well. Have it, but doing well.

I read some where that part of why the 1918 outbreak ended is because a very transmissible but comparatively milder variant tore through and essentially vaccinated the planet.

We'll reach herd immunity one way or the other.
