Second, the first non contiguous one was Louisiana, which was not adjacent to any other state

I actually have had friends call me because they were looking to win bets.

The last time was about a month ago when a friend calls out of the blue and asks what the name of the plastic tip on the end of a shoelace is called.

I told him (aglet) and I hear..."See, I told you, now pay up".
