There are some good people in Alberta, unfortunately there's currently an idiot in charge who has effectively silenced the provincial health officer.

Made it through about 30 seconds of my governors Covid update a few minutes ago. Maryland's "good Republican" Gov started by stating the US just met Biden's July 1st date of getting 70% of the country vaccinated. Then boasted Maryland hit that mark in May. No mention of how Maryland is statistically very well educated and/or there are relatively few elected Maryland Republican politicians* who spread misinformation to their constituents. I do not think when Biden made that goal, he thought he would be fighting so much misinformation from elected officials. That is on him though, he should know better at this point.

Besides my piece of shit congressman Andy Harris.

US records 864,000 vaccinations in last 24 hours — highest since July, White House says

Welcome to the sheeple, dickheads.
"...Tennessee has seen a 90% increase in first shots over the past two weeks,"

Again, just the dumbest fucking state. Hard to believe such a large geographic boundary could have just such a raw mass of stupid people. Get that vaccine shot and get back to the gravy fountain at the Country Buffet!

I don't know a lot about Harris other than the few Rednecks I am still in contact with back there seem to like him.

I did have a thought of how fucked Md would be if Ehrlich was in charge during all this. God, that guy was a dumbass.

True, but it would probably be fine, because the smart areas of the country don't need government mandates to make good decisions, wear masks, get vaccinated, etc. They read the news from good news sources, they trust science, and make reasonable decisions on their own.

Look at the per capita rates in the NE megalopolis and on the West coast. These dense areas are where people are more crowded should have high per capita COVID rates becuase of airports, public transit, crowded markets, apartment buildings etc.. But they haven't and they don't. Most counties in the NE have 1/2 the infection rate (or less) of places like Kansas, Tennessee, or Georgia. It's because people in Maryland, Ohio, Vermont, New York, etc. heeded advice on masks and vaccines.

Mandates help... but it's tough to fight stupid.

Harris seems to be focusing on where a lot of the party, maybe most, are heading. He has been anti-mask, vocal against BLM while being silent on white demonstations including January 6th, and has even met with a alt right eugenics proponent who states some races have a violence gene. Plus taking a gun to the capital just to make a scene and get attention. Unfortunately with his district the size and shape it is, he might be in office a while.

Wow. That's.... something. Westminster and Salisbury in the same district but not Bel Air and Aberdeen.
