SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) — As the delta variant of the coronavirus sweeps across the United States, a growing number of colleges and universities are requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for students to attend in-person classes.

So why don't we do this: Set up a government issued ID where you have to provide actual proof of the vaccination through your health insurance to get it. It will be your proof of vaccination. Drivers' license levels of security which are harder to fake. And all that would be tied to a back end database so a fake card would be easier to uncover.

And then everyone who gets one is automatically registered to vote. That would fit the bill for Voter ID laws that they are pushing too.

Have you met the parents of your district? And yes, doctors do know more about public health than they do. The people whose actions those people impact have rights to. And last I checked, "life" was listed before "liberty." That's not a fucking accident.

Seems like Cawthorn is asleep at the wheel on this one. We can't just all kick up our feet on the dash and let a public health crisis get worse. We won't be paralyzed by fear from a piece of paper that can do a lot of good.

Thanks Curt - She was really struggling of late (lost a lot of weight) and her quality of life was pretty terrible, so on the one hand this is somewhat of a relief. Still tough news to hear, though.
