What would the Broncos done with the top pick in that draft? There was room to lose better that year as well.

Actually lost 10of last 12. Even if had lost one more game in week 16, still would have picked second.

If that was the idea we would have sat him the last 8 weeks of the season.
Player don't want to be benched. Von is still playing hard. I like that about Von and admire him. For being on a crap team this year and being use to winning he is setting a good example.
Justin Simmons another guy. He has fought hard all season. So has Will Parks.

Looks like Lynch will go for the Broncos and Mahomes will go for the Chiefs. That’ll at least give an otherwise snoozer of a game some intrigue.

Last year Lynch was suppose to play in the last game and Kubiak decided to go with his guy.
Did not play him. Now one year later it's comes down to another meaningless game.

I've heard some rumblings that he hasn't put in the requisite time to become a good quarterback. What bothers me more is his seemingly lack of competitive spirit. As opposed to taking a stance of "put me in there. I want to play", he always defers to the trainers' decisions. He just doesn't seem to have that alpha dog fire that we need in our quarterback.

I am not sure what goes on with he and trainers, but I do know when you are a first rd pick and everyone gives up on you, you need to do whatever you can to win your teammates over..
If you can play hurt you gain the respect, if the doctor doesn't clear you though then well.... you have no say.
