If you're their coach, Whos hands do you want on the ball? A Rods or a Rook RB.

Both. They need to establish a run game to protect AR and rest the Def. AR is even more sacked then Cutler. GBs offseason plan looks to be, improve the run game to support AR better. Now in the 4th qtr it will be in ARs hands of coarse.

In the sept. game Benson had 20 carries for 81 yards , Cobb had 1 for 28 yards. That's not too shabby of a running game ( especially vs that Bears D). I tape every game but delete the losses. So this is from memory ( which hasn't served me well lately). Most of Bensons carries came in the first half of that game. If they wanted to commit to the run. Benson should have had at least 30 carries in that game.I doubt their philosophy changes with 2 rooks. I just think McCarthy wants the threat of a running game . So he could play action you to death.

I think McCarthy realizes that AR wont last forever getting hit as much as he does. I think McCarthy would pass every down if he could. But he sees he needs to run to protect AR from leading the league in sacks again this year.

MaCarthy could have a back that averages 6 yards a carry, and he's still only give him 15 carries a game.

I apologize Packer fans, but McCarthy rubs me wrong. Not like Forrest Gregg-wrong, but he just seems like an ass.

That and he's a good coach, that' been whooping us of late:happy:

So why didn't he run more last yr? I doubt he changes his philosophy( But I've been wrong before). Seems what you've read on the GB boards, you're starting to believe. Which scares me as Bear fan. remember those are only posters thoughts. And I know they have some good posters. But they drafted 2 running backs to improve their running game. The big ? pops in my head, what did they do to improve that O-line . Absolutely nothing

I do think we can beat GB. A little offense is all we needed. But on the flip side, BU is gone and he knew the Packer O very well and called out the plays. I'm guessing we will have some high scoring games with GB this year. I think we split. And by week 9 at least half of GB's team should be injured.

Why should half the team be injured?

The fact is the rest of the NFC North wont know what to expect from the Bears because they are used to the same predictable Lovie Smith offense we have had the past 9 years. Our offense as a whole didnt play too bad verse GB defense with the exceptions of Webb and Cutler but both are in better spots to have more production this year. Our defense has always fared pretty well verse the Packers offense but Cutlers turnovers killed us with field position. I dont believe the Packers did enough on offense to be as consistent as they have been in the past.

I expect a better offense from Chicago, but the defense taking a step back. Idc how old Urlacher was he was the qb of that defense and losing that hurts. Greenbay is obviously pass first, but the young rbs should make the running game a little interesting. I'm confident in the wr's still even with the loss of Jennings. I'm expecting a better defensive unit this year also. Should be interesting, but I see another year of Greenbay on top.

Number 1 we have to Beat Green Bay, Lovie tried but Failed!. last years opener w GB was a huge game for us, our defense played great but then we gave up 7 on the fake FG, its coming though, this team is built to Beat Greenbay, new type of offense, new type of coach and a defense that is playing for future contracts, they all know whats at stake, its Very Clear.!

alot of the things we let Greenbay do in the past wont be availlable this year plus we will have a more aggressive offense.

For one thing GB has lost alot of key players who kept them in games, Greg Jennings, T Crabtree, DRIVER, and charles woodson. Plus we need to be able to win up in Minn , Basically we need at Least 5 wins in our division to be considered a Playoff team. I personally think we are on our way up . its crunch time!

and we could give a rats ass what GB Fans think, its really about what our players and coaches think. NONE of us plan on losing to GB. The thing is its such a competitive league these days you have to have great talent on both sides of the ball. its so close. like when GB went 15-1 and lost in the 1st round. that was coaching, Coughlin got up earlier then Mcarthy (Communist) LOL.

The Biggest thing needing to change verse the Packers is Cutlers play. We have been in many of the games until Cutler took us out of it with his idiotic decision making/turnovers. Trestman should be able to clean up Cutlers play and really help him succeed verse the best of teams, giving us an edge verse the Packers. Clay Matthews gave Webb a ton of problems but that should also be cleaned up quite a bit this year. You now have Bushrod at LT who will hold his own much more than Webb was able to do and will have Slauson/Long next to him and get help from Forte if needed. If Matthews switches over on Webb than you will have Long/Brown there to help along with M. Bennett who is a fantastic blocker if needed. The organization has put themselves in very good shape to take down the pack this year.

As long as we have Rodgers it will be GB's division to lose every single season. IMO the Bears need a better QB and leader than Cutler. I loved Woodson but he was on the decline so losing him is not much of a loss. I say the Packers finish 13-3 and the Bears 10-6 with GB taking both from the Bears.

How did any of those guys keep us in games last year? Jennings accounted for 36 catches all year, Driver 8, Crabtree 9 and Woodson missed 8 games. None of those "key" players were counted on last year and we still won 10 games. We improved our O line by putting our best 2 on Rodgers blind side and get Bulaga and Sherrod back. The run game will improve and our D will too with Jones coming in and Perry, Williams and House coming back healthy. It will be a fun year in the black and blue division!

Cutler has the potential to be a very good QB but has never been surrounded with a QB coach that will really work with him like Trestman will. He will be greatly improved this year and if he reduces half the mistakes he makes in the games verse the Packers we will win. No way the Packers go 13-3 this year and take both from the Bears.

I wouldnt say putting Bulaga at LT is really improving your offensive line too much. The rest of the NFC North defensive lines will destroy your O line still. Yes you did get some players back and drafting some rookies that performed well in College but once again the Packers did nothing in FA to put them over the top. Who knows how you rookies will perform and the running game might be slightly improved but will still be very weak and they will go back to their normal form. Both the Bears and Packers will make the playoffs this year with the possibility of the Vikings somehow squeezing in.
