Sources: Giants agree to trade Vernon to Browns

I'm not really sure what they are thinking here. Zeitler was the best offensive lineman on their team and they have a young qb to protect. Vernon is a talented guy that doesn't stay healthy. Zeitler is perhaps a little overpaid, but never misses games.

In the span of a week the Browns have cut their leading tackler and most dependable lineman. Curious moves for a team with plenty of cap space and good momentum from last season.

I like their QB, seems they would want to set him up to succeed. but, whatever. I guess they figure they don't have the pieces in place so why try.

All bets are off with the Vernon move. But keep in mind, John Dorsey didn’t sign Zeitler to that contract. That was the previous regime. Pretty much everyone that wasn’t hand picked Dorsey is being let go. They drafted Austin Corbett in the 2nd round last year, and likely want him to take over that spot.

Curious move for sure though.
