Oh that's funny, poor Lane. Although I think some school out there will give him a 3rd shot @ coaching. But his Tennessee & USC failures might scare some teams away right now.

I genuinely felt bad for him at one point. You could see Saban on the sideline after Sims hit Cooper on a long pass for a TD and Kiffin was staring into the abyss while Saban yelled about him, apparently because it was not what Saban wanted the play to be. Saban can be tough to deal with, so if Kiffin was offered a top spot again, he might jump at it.

I would think NU would go after a HC w/experience rather than another assistant. Ask TTECH how it's working out hiring a former QB star who was an OC. Then again, I don't think NU could lure away a quality HC. The expectations are going to be unreal.......

Interesting...from the ESPN article

In fact, no coach in the history of a Power 5 program had been fired for on-field performance after winning as many games in his first seven years. Only Alabama and Oregon -- first and second this week in the College Football Playoff rankings -- can match the Huskers in winning nine games each year since 2008.

Nebraska fans a little spoiled and entitled???

Maybe Saban should fire Kiffin & start calling the offensive plays himself? Then if something goes wrong Saban could just yell @ himself. I mean getting upset over scoring a TD is absurd.

A voice of reason. :thumb:

Nebraska just got burned hiring a coordinator with no head coaching experience. I doubt they'll do that again.

They also will not hire a head coach who's failed at another blue blood program.

I think Pelini should have stayed, but Nebraska needed new coordinators. A new tight ends coach, a new linebackers coach, and a new Strength and Conditioning coach.

My wishes

Hudspeth
McElwain
Tressel - I don't care about his show cause or whatever it is

Hopefully, not an NFL person.

It had better not be Al Golden.

Hopefully, not a coordinator at another school.

Frost is a maybe, but Nebraska could offer him $700,000 and almost double his Oregon salary as OC. But it is thought that Frost wants Head Coach.

Muschamp as DC?

IU should fire Wilson and hire Pelini.

Nebraska's resources might not be what you think at this point.

Nebraska is operating well into the green. No worries there. It is Nebraska.

If you watched the game, you would know what Saban was actually mad about. I am not sure it was the play calling, it was the entire debacle that led to Saban going all mental last night. Kirby has endured and i am sure that he has told Kiffin that Saban's on the field rage is only part of the "Process" that must be endured, but he is a good coach to learn under and work for.

If a school hires Pelini, just don't let him bring Papuchis, Dobson, and Els.

Barney Cotton is probably going to retire anyway.

Beck will find a job, just not one that can pay him $700,000 like he had at Nebraska.
