Bears hired John Fox as head coach.

It's a four-year deal. Fox is the 15th head coach in franchise history. Fox enters Chicago on the back of a gaudy 46-18 record he compiled over four years in Denver, but that was built largely on the back of Peyton Manning. Fox was fired in Denver because GM John Elway didn't believe he could take the team to the next level. Now instead of Manning Fox will be working with Jay Cutler, a quarterback who is looking more and more like a coach killer. Fox coordinates neither his offense nor defense, and is extremely conservative in the way he manages games. Fox keeps the trains on time, but doesn't make much of an impact beyond "leadership." That's important, of course, but it's an underwhelming hire for a franchise coming off a disastrous season. If the Bears are realistic, they'll be banking on Fox restoring order, not taking them to the Super Bowl.

Thoughts Lions fans? Upgrade from coach Canada, but how much did he really do in Denver idk. Credit Peyton for their success IMO. Either way it's an interesting hire. He did great things for Carolina way back when.

Fox is a better hire than rex Ryan IMO.

He has had success before Manning and will get the Bears defense playing better. The Bears problem is a head case QB and an aging WR that stirs up shit as well. As long as they have Cutler they will be an up and down team that will compete but usually fall short. And due to that contract he signed they are pretty much stuck with him.

Bear fans should be happy with Fox I doubt he lets the team get a way from him like Trestman.

Could work out like Caldwell did. People will think he squashed all the BS, even though he didn't.

Fox rode manning's coat tails. If he couldn't win with Manning, that running game and that defense. Dude is going to face plant with Chicago's roster.

They have a whole lot of work to do in Chi. I think Fox was a good hire, he's a good coach, but I know nothing about the new GM. Hopefully their new GM is terrible and they stink for the next decade. Or forever would be nice! And I can't agree that Manning carried Fox. He took Carolina to the Superbowl with Jake Delhomme! And anyone who can get Manning to take his hands from around with throat long enough to get to a Superbowl has to be a pretty good coach.
