Yep.
With health, and that’s a big if of course, the Jets OL should be ok and if the first rounder pans out should be goodFor me, Rodgers is about the quality of the OL play in front of him. I don’t trust it.
Old QB and two offensive linemen who can't stay healthy? I couldn't imagine putting money on them.2023 thread and poll.
For 2024 some sportsbooks have them ahead of the Dolphins for the AFC East divisional title. I'm not convinced.
I'm not saying the Sportsbooks are wrong, i'm just a bit surprised. Either team could end up being the better team. On paper both teams have good QBs with questionable health issues, but Rodgers is also old and he has missed an entire year. I also think he has less game-winning talent around him. Head-to-head for most wins i'd have had the Dolphins as a slight favourite rather than a slight underdog, but that's not a betting recommendation. For reference Pinnacle have the Jets Over 9.5 at -137 and the Dolphins Over 9.5 at -125. It's very close.Old QB and two offensive linemen who can't stay healthy? If you're betting on them on a game to game basis then I get it. Tons of talent.
My general read on the AFC is that the Chiefs and Bills are huge favorites in their division and the other two divisions are bloodbaths. Not that I want to jinx the Chiefs or anything.I'm not saying the Sportsbooks are wrong, i'm just a bit surprised. Either team could end up being the better team. Close yes but Rodgers is 40 and damaged and likely to sustain more damage.I'm not saying the Sportsbooks are wrong, i'm just a bit surprised. Either team could end up being the better team. Week one but the Jets are 31st in rushing (ahead of the Panthers, LOL)With health, and that’s a big if of course, the Jets OL should be ok and if the first rounder pans out should be good
Everything in New York is overhyped. The media is making a big deal out of the Yankees calling up Jasson Dominguez like he is this hotshot can't miss future Hall Of Famer. I mean, the guy is kinda okay, but it's not like he tore up AA and has only played 50 games at the AAA level without showing much power there. For some reason, the national media is really buying into the narrative that the New York Jets are a dark horse this season, now that they have Aaron Rodgers. My twitter feed is full of Jets camp highlights featuring that Ohio State receiver they got, and pundits applauding Rodgers for taking a pay cut so they could sign other guys and compete.
Are the Jets for real? Not for real? What do people think?
I predict 8-9, with a disappointing performance from Rodgers himself leading the way. Is he still microdosing?
I just don’t agree that the Bills are huge favorites to win the East, not like how the Chiefs are clearly the huge favorite to win the West. The Bills have a subpar receiving unit which will make it harder for them to win the division, the Fins on the other hand have one of the best receiving units in the NFL. I’m picking the Fins to win the division although the Fins O-Line is kind of shaky and they’ll need their edge rushers healthy. The Jets are the team I’m not sure what to expect from - if Rodgers has something left in the tank they will contend for a playoff spot - their D is really strong and they have some good pieces on offense.
I've seen so many people counting the Bills out and I don't like their defense much and obviously WRs are a bit of an unknown. But I can't fathom how anybody doesn't think Josh Allen is by far the best QB in that division and can carry that team.
I get that Miami has a whole bunch of Ferraris but until they show they can dominate a real contender, I will never be sold. Especially come winter when things aren't so easy. Is Tua a pretty good QB? Yeah, but not a guy that you think the stats match what you see. Let's see what happens when teams can stop the YAC yards.
And the Jets are still the Jets in many ways. Thinking Rodgers alone makes that big of a difference is counting on a lot when he's that old and really was very mediocre his last season in GB. Now has no mobility and very lean on weapons and the coaching leaves a lot to be desired. Very predictable and easy to defend. If (big if) Mike Williams gets and stays healthy and productive, maybe they have something besides Wilson and Hall. And we will see on the defense. I think it's a good unit but not as great as they try to portray themselves as. Time will tell if the offense can truly do enough to keep the D fresh.
I still think this division is the Bills for the taking unless Allen gets injured ( which is entirely possible the way he plays). And I don't think the Pats will just be pushovers either. They will play some tough defense. Likely lose more than they win but teams will know they were in a fight.
We all know what happens to Ferraris in the winter. They get put away in storage early.
Down the stretch last year the Bills were pretty good just sorta running the ball and using TEs. And if Josh Allen isnt in spots where he is throwing INTs then the Bills have been one of the most efficient teams in the league.Funny that you devalue the Bills for no star receivers, yet hasn't that been the case for Mahomes until this season? The Bills no longer have to force the ball to Diggs to keep him happy, they can simply throw to whomever has the best matchup and/or gets open. Keon and Kincaid are 1st round picks (essentially, Bills traded down slightly into the 2nd for their guy Keon) and Shakir is an emerging trustworthy target. It's not like the cupboard is bare, just no single alpha WR standout (yet).
