Something to do with the lottery and market size. It is a new rule, and I can’t fully explain it. But it has something to do with the fact that they improved their position in the draft through the lottery, so they are unable to pick top 10 the following year (or something like that).

Why are Oakland and Chicago exempt until 10th?

Teams that receive revenue-sharing payouts can't receive a lottery pick for more than two years in a row and those that don't can't get a top-six choice in consecutive Drafts. Furthermore, a club that's ineligible for the lottery can't select higher than 10th overall.

22 games left. 4.5 game lead for the division,- and if they win that- 4.5 game lead for a 1st round bye vs. the Astros.

Destiny is in their own hands---- having a lead is nice but a lot can happen in 22 games. Going to LA to face the Dodgers wont be easy for the next 3 games--- would be awesome to get the series--- but absolutely have to win at least 1.

Boyd looked really good. Since coming back from Tommy John surgery last month- Boyd has pitched 28.2 innings and has a 2.20 ERA and 0.77 WHIP. Starts against the Dodgers and Yanks in there too.

Boyd and Cobb have been life savers. Boyd is pitching like a #1. Pretty crazy

Nice to see Cobb pitching so well. He wasn’t a Giant for long, but he was a stud while we had him. Hope he helps you when it really counts.

Hope it continues but so far the Boyd and Cobb pickups could not have been much better.
