Lorenzen being hurt after the scare with Ragans is a real turd sandwich. Marsh is roughly equal to Lorenzen in terms of TTL, but Marsh in the bullpen could’ve been a positive asset and Lorenzen out of pen in the playoffs is probably better than Will Smith.

And again, Detroit has Tarik Skubal, a reliever day, Keider Montero, Brant Hurter, and now Ty Madden as a rotation.

Massey and Pasquantino being stabilizing forces in the lineup makes such a difference for the length of the lineup. Not starting sub replacement players is itself a value at times. Speaking of which, it makes Freddy Fermin super valuable as the backup catcher for being a passable bat and strong glove behind the dish.

I guess the follow up is how the flying fuck does Adam Frazier still get plate appearances, but I digress.

Tough loss, but if it takes soft contact to get beat, so be it. Plenty happy with the result and the last 3 games between the two will be in KC. I am more than up for that series with a half game separating the two as a practical matter now.
