Royals might be getting a bit hot again. DeJong has been a very nice and cost effective platoon bat. Little surprised that has worked better (and against righties at that) than Lane Thomas for Cleveland.

Royals really need to sweep the Angels and get themselves to the 18 over mark (90 wins~) as quickly as possible. That's probably the hard cutoff mark for marking the playoffs and this year could need more than that if Boston gets hot. They're much, much better equipped for the upcoming schedule with Erceg, Bubic, and a healthy Schreiber, and Harvey should be back soon. With that being said, it's still a tough schedule, so it's better to take care of business while you can before it becomes a barfight to make the playoffs and for the division like it is shaping up to be.

Skubal is the likely AL Cy Young winner---- but with Lugo and Burnes seeing their ERA's go to about or over 3.2, I would think Clase will be #2 if he keeps this up --- he will likely give up another couple runs before the season ends--- but if Clase ends with an ERA of something like under 1.00 and a whip of like 0.7 with 45 saves--- he will garner plenty of votes--- and I think should finish behind no one besides Skubal---- unless Lugo and Burnes really light it up the rest of the way.

with Sandlin starting against Ragans tomorrow --- it would be nice if the Guards could just split this series with the Twins playing Atlanta--- it should mean they do not lose any ground.

Guards very very tough August schedule stay tough for a little longer--- then relents a little bit....got the Royals for 4, then the Pirates for 3, Royals for 3, and the Dodgers for 3....

after that its still not easy - but its not the gauntlet they will have played.

Series with the White Sox, Rays, Twins, Cardinals, Reds, and Astros to finish it out.

Considering detroit is holding their own with 1 of their 5 starters they began the year with as well.

First thought it was just a gimmick to get us to pay attention the rest of the year.

But this is actual good baseball they are playing for the most part.

Feels like the hitting instruction they got at AAA was better than in Detroit and conversely the pitching development is balls in Toledo.

Meadows and Tork coming back different men.

If they can form a core with Keith, Greene, and Carpenter thats not a half bad spot to be with guys like Jung coming up and Clark and Mcgonigle on the way.
