I will answer your question as direct questions don't scare me. If you are speaking of Watson's signing bonus being guaranteed if suspended the answer is, in fact, no. see how easy that was?

Your turn (again)

"considering how the Browns structured the deal to minimize the losses (both team/player) with the $1M 1st year payment - basically trying to handicap any league impact with a suspension."

Is this comment.....
a) true
b) false, as the Browns do this for most or all large extensions
Try to stay focused. I know it may be difficult as you're probably quite dizzy from all your spinning.

Have you asked me that question before?
A. No
B. No

See how simple I made it for you? I don't want to hurt your brain anymore.

Is this where you apologize AGAIN for being wrong?

I likely have asked you a form of that question...or at least wondered why you keep making a factually incorrect statement as though it's true. But if you'd like, we can assume this is the first time you've ever seen this. Let's see if you will actually answer or be spooked yet again.....

Was that the question?

You couldn't possibly twist, turn, evade from answering questions any more if you had to.

Got to love this forum
It was...and like most irrational people you refused to answer as questions scare you.

Oh Mr. Direct now wants to start using a form of a question to strengthen his being wrong? You are too cute little one.

Maybe you should've used a "?" ? I'm not sure if this is a statement or a question. See how fun this GramnAr Nazi stuff can be? Stay cute.

Do I answer the form of the question? Or the question that was never asked of me?

You've tapped danced around so many direct questions, Fred Astaire is jealous.

sure thing.

No doubt you have made this incredibly fun with how far you have taken my asking you a question about you saying "could care less". Hell, my mistake if you really did care. I asked if you did, but that question scared you, too.

Oh so it's a comment or a question? Comments don't require answers. But I'm sure you knew that? Putting a "?" at the end of your sentence must be too hard. So better to just be lazy and hope people understand the "form" you were using.

Stay cute

Correct answer is:
c) both of the above

I know it, we know it and you know it.
I don't have much history with this discussion, but this is clearly the right answer..... Watson's contract might very well be structured like the contract of other Browns franchise guys. And, Watson's situation is much, much different than those other players. Unless I'm mistaken, none of them are facing significant time away from the field.

The Browns gave an unprecedented amount of guaranteed money to a guy that is facing the possibility of a massive suspension. It's quite a price to pay for an organization and it is unique.

Watson should get suspended 1 game for each suit brought against him. That is about to be 24 games.

Sounds fair.

I read the 1 year thing to. As for Nick Adams he's one Alledged sexual misconduct behind.

The accusations have to be nearing the end, if not Watson may have as many sexual misconduct accusations, as women Wilt Chamberlain claimed to have slept with.

I think the source of that tweet if sketchy. I'll believe it when it comes from one of the NFL insiders.

But, I can believe the idea of a 1 year suspension. To the NFL this isn't just about 'guilt' or innocence. The whole thing has bad optics and they don't want to look like an organization that is insensitive to these accusations. I keep thinking back to the Big Ben suspension..... The evidence in that case was lacking. But the perception that Ben was in a bathroom with a 20 year old drunk woman left a bad image for him and the NFL. Given that Watson is already receiving a huge bonus for this year, this will be a 'paid' suspension for a season.

I'd say a year or even more is definitely not out of the question. Agree not much point believing these rumors as there have been rumors the suspension will be a year or more, 2-4 games or even no suspension.

This all might come down to how believable they thought Watson was in their conversations with him. If he held firm on his "I wouldn't change a thing" comment that will not help him IMO. At the very least he has to own up to the idea he put a lot of this on himself by seeing so many different therapists and he might have some kind of an issue.

I agree.... Watson will probably have to budge a little and make some concessions about how he didn't handle himself as a pro (even if he maintains his innocence from a legal perspective). I think one year will be the easy solution for the league because a whole season is a stiff penalty but isn't a 'death penalty' of sorts.....

a year (or longer) is certainly possible but still think it will be more like 6-8 games (unless they know something we don't).

The thing that hurts the league right now is that there hasn't been any resolution to the current cases (from a civil standpoint) and there are still complaints being filed. By suspending Watson for a whole year, the league basically buys themselves over a year of time to let all the complaints and ugly details emerge. If they go for 6 games and some new shit gets uncovered in the middle of September, they're forced to make a decision to either extend the suspension or stick to their guns and appear unsympathetic to the victims. It's a tough spot for the league so I think they make the easier choice which is to suspend him for a season.
